Yeah i like em.
I just re-packed em yesterday. I really enjoy having loose bearing hubs for some reason.
I notice the coloring on your sticker is different than mine. Also, my rear is a Sansin NJS hub but looks quite a bit different that yours. Yours looks about like the front`s design. My rear is not the same.
Ill have to shoot a pic of it.

I still think those Dia Compe rims are the best. Why can't we get those in America?

I wonder how Sansin hubs stand on the NJS hub heirarchy where Suntour rules the world.

deathhare 09-15-07 07:28 AM

Apparently theyre basically the same exact hub as the Suntour.
Thats what i heard.
The rims i have are apparently Dia Compe. Thats what i was told at Carnival where i got them.
Theyre the same rims that come on the DiaCompe Gran Compe wheel sets so i assume that info was true.

I just read that all of those Suntour hubs were actually made by Sansin.

Copied this from S.Brown's page
"Sanshin made Sunshine hubs. My understanding is they picked "Sunshine" as a brand name since it sounded close to Sanshin, non-Japanese had trouble pronouncing Sanshin, and Sunshine has nice English-language connotations. Around 1985 they seemed to have dropped Sunshine and labelled their product Sanshin.
In addition to producing product under their own label, Sanshin also acted as a subcontractor for SunTour; all SunTour-labelled hubs came from Sanshin. I don't know if there was any corporate cross-ownership, but, in the late '80s, Sanshin's president was Mamoru Kawai, the younger son of Junzo Kawai, Maeda/SunTour's chairman.

Sanshin's factory was in Shiga-ken, maybe an hour from Maeda's offices in Sakai-shi. In the mid-'80s they were diversifying a bit into forging auto parts. I don't know what happened to them when Maeda was purchased then went under.

Sanshin made a beautiful ProAm model high-flange hub in the late '70s. The flanges only had 5 cut-outs, leaving a distinctive star-shaped center section. Very nice bearing quality, lots of polish and pretty anodizing."

Dura Ace is the only NJS hub manufacturer now.....

Has anyone heard much about other Sansin track hubs? I have a set of Sansin Pro-Training hubs that are pretty nice, but I've never been able to figure out what to compare them to.
