So with this in mind, the Cops (and their K9's) from around the the United States and Canada that volunteered to come New Orleans, at great personal risk, and tirelessly search the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans for survivors of Hurricane Katrina were doing what exactly in your estimation? I fail to see how this was an example of them being the "muscle of the ruling class". In fact, my own first hand memories of that search and rescue are of acts that were all about selflessly helping the less fortunate.

To post this quote after a posting mentioning the death of Moira Smith is worse than distasteful, it is simply cold hearted. I went to her funeral. She was an American hero. Period.
So your reaction to a Cop saving somebody's life, and possibly getting killed in the process, is dislike of the Cop herself (or himself)? Just want to be clear about this. Sounds like you are being no less oppressive, racist, and classist. And what are you doing on a personal level to change this problem you perceive to be inherent to all members of all Police forces?
As for me being an apologist, you are beyond wrong in that statement. I am a huge critic of bad Cops. That does not need to be mutually exclusive to me hailing good ones. I work with the Police, they are my brothers in the Emergency Services. That does not make me an apologist for their wrong doing when there has in fact been such. It also does not in itself allow you to discount my viewpoint because of my association.

You probably think the military is full of real american hero's too (cue GI JOE theme plz), that doesn't make that organization any less oppressive and imperialistic either.
How am i being oppressive, racist, and classist by hating a government created organization? I guess MAYBE oppresive in the fact that any hatred could be called oppressive, but i am talking about an institution. Class and race has no merit if you're trying to apply it to my views, and the fact that i listed those as reasons why i dislike police as a whole should already free me from that as an accusation regardless.
Saying i hate cops because they are classist and racist (even though i am too!) is like saying "i hate nazi's because i'm a national socialist." It doesn't make any sense.

Cuba offered thousands of "real american heroes" to help during the crisis too, but our country said lol we don't want commie help. THAT is humanism. Offering thousands of doctors to help the country that has tried to destroy yours for 50 years, solely because people needed help.

You don't get it dude. I'm not talking about bad cops, thus your constant redundant discussion of good cop vs. bad cop is irrelevant.

People do this every day around the world that aren't law enforcement agents, and aren't compensated for this behavior.
A police officer knows the risks of their job, and is compensated for it with salary and benefits. An actual civilian that saves someones life and dies in the process is just dead, and their family doesn't see **** for it.
There is also the fact that, while it is honorable, the police officer is acting based off of their supposed understand of their job title. If it wasn't there job, they may have intervened, they may not have.
Again, good people can obviously exist within law enforcement, I never denied it. The position is bull****, however. I will again reitterate that i believe the same of the military

everyone always thinks a cops life is more important than a civilian. That's why, even if they are off duty, the penalty of killing an officer is higher than if you shoot some random poor bloke in the face.

If you prefer to just refer to her a a hero, I'd be fine with that. And just to be clear, she volunteered for her life less important than others. She was willing to sacrifice hers so that others may live. That is part of why she was so heroic. She puts hundreds of other people's lives ahead of her own and perished for it.

All cops are bastids...
Except for the ones I know personally, have helped me when I needed them, arrested that crackhead that broke into my house, let me off the hook when I was being stupid all those times, PCed me instead of arresting me for public intoxication/disorderly conduct, let me go with a warning this time (and even the next time), dropped by my girlfriend's coffee shop in Providence when she was working late shifts alone to make sure she was ok, and also the state trooper I share beer and stories with. Other than that, BASTIDS.
