I'm washing my hands of this for a while. I'm truly amazed at:
1) The bigotry and whimp factor of some of these posters
2) The amount of people viewing this thread but saying nothing

i'm pretty sure america giving aid to countries like iran, indonesia and such and helpin the kashmiris is more of a winning the hearts and minds of the people and not being like "we care so much." maybe the INDIVIDUALS are not but the GOVERNMENT is.
cuba doesn't have to prove **** to anyone or try to influence anyone they're tiny. also cuba has a way high doctor per capita compared to other countries. and i doubt they'd send so many doctors that it would crash their healthcare system. people from ny went to new orleans to help with the hurricane and i don't think it crashed ny's health system

I never said I was an American hero. My heroes are made of tougher stuff than I am. That being said, I was on standby to deploy with a medical rescue team to Bam, Iran, for the earthquake. I was willing to go and take part in the rescue effort. That is more than you can say. I'm no hero, but I've got the scars to prove I stepped up to the plate a few times and made a little bit of a difference. Before you laugh at me again, maybe you should consider this.

While I didn't vote for Bush and don't share many of his politics, this is misleading. Carter broke ties with Iran and considered it an enemy of the state. Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush have all upheld this stance. This is a viewpoint shared by other Presidential hopefuls too such as Hillary Clinton, Obama, Rudy, Romney, Nader, Dean, ect.

Whatever. I stand by what I said. Laughing at me just makes you look pathetic. I mean seriously, what have you done to make the world a better place?

People like me? My experience has been that the world has been very welcoming to people like me. Then again, you don't know much about me, now do you? Come on now. I've asked a number of times, and you are avoiding the question. What have you done for your fellow man? What sacrifices have you made? You want to be critical of those involved in or with rescue, law enforcement, etc? What have you done with your life? What have you given of yourself? It is too easy to hide behind your whimpy snideness.

What IVE done for people is irrelevant. Because see, thats your problem. Youre not looking at the topic. Its cops and all you want to do focus on is what good things cops do and **** everything else. Like it all cancels out or something.
You basically refuse to look at all the BAD ****. You somehow think it doesnt matter what all ****ed up things they do as long as they save some lives along the way.
And it wasnt just a joke what i said on page 8. Domestic violence IS up to 4 times MORE common in cop families as opposed to non-cop families. Thats a huge amount.
I wonder why that is? Is it because theyre such great Americans? Or maybe its because of all the lives they save or what heroes they are. Yeah, that must be it.
Or MAYBE its because the type of ******* that has the desire to become a cop just enjoys dominating people with violence. Especially weaker people. Whether it be the teenage african american that didnt do jack or even his own wife or daughter.

Someone needs to start reading Soldier of Fortune instead of arguing with Fixsters on the Intranets.Huh. From Cop mockery [Always entertaining for the family] to lovin' ol' Glory.Puke!I'm gonna go operate on some foreign kids, so they can get better and killed off by weapons my country gives to their government.

Um, I stand behind what I say. I also walk the walk. And when I speak on the matters I've spoken on during this discussion, I've spoken from first hand experience. I'm not an armchair quarterback. Believe me, don't believe me, it makes no difference. I know who I am.
Have fun guys. Enjoy your cycling.
I'm off to prepare for Hurricane Dean. If I end up deploying, I'll be sure to remember this thread and chuckle as I try to save some lives with the help of Law Enforcement Officers and Military Troops. If I go with my K9, this will be my dog's last deployment before retirement. He's considered a Police Officer under the law in some states and nations, but he's a good boy none the less. I'd argue more, but with a Cat 5 churning there are more important things to be doing with my energy.

This story makes my Oakland PD scar ache a little less.

I would hope that someone helping LEOs/NG in an emergency would have all their attention on the job at hand. Then again, I suppose a decrease in the number of competent personal is to be expected with the situation in Iraq/Pakistan.

If one was to think only about the job of rescue 24/7 for days on end, the PTSD would be quick to hit and long to last. That kind of intensity is dangerous for both the rescuer and the rescued. Keeping oneself entertained and chipper during a rescue is an important part of the job. Gallows humor is a good way to provide for this. Walk a few steps in my shoes, and you learn this quickly.
Is this really what fixed gear cycling has become? Sad.

I didn't question anything. I expressed my shock that by their own admission a supposed First Responder, Medic, and/or K9 Handler would have their mind on anything other than the situation at hand during an emergency.

I used to work with a Belgian Malinois like the dog in the picture. They are a fantastic breed, very intense. Like a German Shepherd Dog (GSD) on meth. They tend to be very good at Urban Search And Rescue (USAR). I'm working with a great GSD right now, my hero in every way, but my next dog will likely be another Belgian Malinois or a GSD/Belgian Malinois cross. Probably the latter.

By the way, is everyone on this board a troll now? This is not in reference to the OP, whose story was legitimately funny, but to all of the clowns who responded like ******bags just for the sake of being a ******bag. Yeah, because it's the OP's fault that the cop got riled up by getting stuck in traffic and felt the need to wave his dick around. Sucks for him.
Calm the **** down...

Edited to add:
And what exactly do you mean by "supposed First Responder, Medic, and/or K9 Handler". If you are calling my credibility into question, please be ready to eat some serious crow when I respond to you in turn. You want to call me out, do it. Stand up straight, be a grown up, and call me out. And be honorable in admitting you misjudged me after you do so.
I'm off to more important things. This forum really needs to get a grip. Spineless trolls everywhere I look.
