My first fixed gear. Cheap MTB steel frame, 650B Wheels (the commonest tire size here in Brazil) and 61 gear inches (46/20). Still with rear brake.

my singlespeed. built from one of my friend's used MTB frame he gave me. vertical rear dropouts, but with appropriate gear ratio (32/14T) and worn-out chain, the chain tension fits just right. front and rear discbrakes, with DIY front fork (used chromoly fork with home-made discbrake caliper mount). the cassette spacer is made from PVC pipe, so far so good. and the bashguard... it's made from a forklift castor wheel. homemade paintjob, using aerosol spraypaint. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...Image004-1.jpg singlespeeding runs in the family... this one is my wife's. actually, she's the one who introduced singlespeeding to me. Indonesian made city bike frame. using front and rear BMX hubs, with lots of washers in the rear axle just to fill in the gap between the locknut and the dropout. also homemade paintjob. everything's done in my garage, except for the bashguard and the rigid fork. |

argh, onetwennyeight pulls out the big guns. i'm shocked at how much damage that wheel suffered there.
i'm gonna try to get my hands on my x rays. it looks like i have a sideways Van Halen logo separating my collarbone ;) also, http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2268/...6bc9c7831f.jpg cartilaaaaage... |
