Well, the "correct" way is the way ahand showed them set up. That allows you to easily crank the straps down hard just by pulling down on the strap, and loosen it by smacking the buckle away from you. Straps aren't really meant to be run in a "set it and forget it" sort of configuration.

like i said before...it's not THAT serious |
but those that correct method is for what?...track racing, and we all know he's not using it for that;)
I know I don't like to have them cranked tight during street use |
I usually crank them down pretty tight unless it's stop and go.

clipless is find, but u gotta bring along an extra set of shoes. i have eggbeaters and MTB shoes. much more efficient than cages/straps

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3160/...e2fa308de8.jpg At first I thought the wheels were different sizes, but it turned out just to be perspective. I've also already added some upgrades, like grease in the bearings. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3050/...86ae89de7a.jpg The much sought after Shimano B type coaster brake. What a find! |

I blast hills biweekly on my bike which is set up similarly. If I found zipps for that price I'd be all over them. My hill rides are only 24 miles but they absolutely make me a stronger rider. When I ride it 48x17 I'm less tired at the end but my average speed is consistently about .8mph slower than when I ride it at 48x15. I'd rather beef up my legs pushing a harder gear up than have my descent speeds limited by gearing. I hit 40 mph coming down and spinning that is a huge pain at 48x17. Then again I run a brake.

If I owned a video camera I absolutely would. My riding buddy hits 47mph on that descent on his tarmac. He also keeps going for another 24 miles after I head home. Riding with someone that much faster than me makes me push my comfort zone a bit, and probably makes me better if I don't die.

easily? ... not having any straps would be easy. they are as wide as the wide part of the shoe (which is where they fit around)...and only that wide. nothing more. so YES i can put my foot into the cage, with the aide of reaching down to the straps and pulling them back around my foot. is there vertical lift between the sole of my foot and the pedal on my "pull up" ... it's miniscule...

no more talkytalky about double straps please. more bikes please.
