What are those white things on the wheel? Or is that part of the rim?

This is how I picked it up. Old Dawes Lightning. Reynolds frame; very light. Added drops, front brake, and levers. Now it looks like this: http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/img_0491.jpg I haven't ridden my road bike since I have started riding this one. I might consider a more appropriate bike to ride fixed [this one has a low BB] and turn this one into my road bike - this is the only reason the cable guides are still there. |
i know H+son is the new hype but that cinelli is confused about it's race :P
japanese cranks, ring, stem, and bars U.S born hubs laced to taiwanese rims (i think that's where H+son is from) |

What bike are you talking about? On the Cinelli, the only white things I see are the rims. On the Specialized, those are reflectors.

the build looks great regardless of its components' countries of origin.

yeah, a bike should only have parts from one country on it. this whole idea of a "global economy" is just bullsh*t. furthermore, we should from this point forward only buy bicycles and parts from the country of our own origin, so that we ourselves do not become confused as to our own thoroughbred heritage
 |
Well, when purchasing a frame largely based on brand and looks, it seems as though some more thought would have been put into prettier/matching components.
Functionality aside. |
well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i'm not arguing it's attractiveness, only the requirement of attractiveness being components all from one country (which i know wasn't your comment). if that's the case then about 99.5% of us need to take our australian velocities off our frames, and good luck finding an australian hub to lace them to... etc etc

**** now that i think about it my bike sucks.
aussie frame, italian hubs cranks post saddle stem bars rims straps, japanese pedals headset chain, american grease, german tires maybe glue too, not sure where my bartape is from. wonder where the paint was manufactured. i give up. i quit bikes and bike forums. most of your standards are just too high. |

Trek 400 (got the bike for free) with the new wheelset. Now it's 52/16. Need to get new pedals and tires. Looking at some Brooks saddles too to replace this one. Love the bike.
