Soma wheelset, Major Taylor bars, Ensho saddle and matching bar tape. Phil BB and CK headset.

I hate to disagree with everyone here but I really just don't like it.

The bars, tape and saddle say retro, but everything else says modern. Not only that, but I feel the red and brown just clash.

I'll give you this much, it's set up safely and correctly (front brake, clipless pedals, level saddle and properly adjusted bars and chain), which is more than I can say about a lot of bikes, but it just doesn't work for me aesthetically.

Do, of course, feel free to not give a **** what I think. Just one man's opinion. :o

nice bike, just don't understand bar tape only at the ends, are you on the drops the entire time? from the location of your brake handle i would assume no

Why do you tilt your horns up like that? Aren't they supposed to be level?

those bars are not as far up as they look, it is like riding on the hoods of brake levers,

i need to get some of the weight off my shoulders, I usually have a 10-15 pound bag

I have a torn rotator cuff, and a broken left elbow.

Really nice but I think track drop bars and a positive rise stem are at odds.

get those risers off! and the stem too! that needs cinelli stuff. I'm actually a little heated that you but risers on that

chase. 03-01-09 03:10 PM

that moser badly needs a zeus pista group. spot on with the saddle, though.

Thanks everyone who commented on my Swobo Sanchez build. I like getting all the different points of view, how different folks set up their rides. JABBA, I actually was testing the waters with the retro/modern mix, I really like the feel of the Major Taylor bars, and I was just curious about setting up a more recent, sloping top tube design with a "retro" handlebar arrangement. I welcome your input as to what you think would click as far as saddle, HB and stem selection. I'm always mixing and trying different themes with my bikes (I have 3 fixed rides) so meh, maybe it'll be something different next month!

I didn't want a cookie-cutter type bike, and this one definitely gets reactions...

I like the visual impression I get when riding it: the "cockpit" view of the mostly bare handlebars, the unusual shape, and minimal bar tape wrap. Just a hint of the red trim color.

Ersatz, I like riding with bare handlebars, and having padding on the drops only. I am comfortable riding without padding nearer the stem, or when modulating the brake. Leather gloves work great on bare handlebars. I also clamp lighting systems, GPS and a bell on the handlebars, depending on when, where I'm going...so it's nice having room for all that crap
