Ceya, next time I'm in NYC we'll hit Yonah Schimmel Knishery (137 E. Houston St). I had this cabbage one but the chocolate one was better. My camera was stolen after we asked some dude to take our picture but he was nice enough to email this one to me.

Just go for clear Oury's on the gold bars, it'll do the trick.

Here's my baby! It's my first fixed geared bike. I had been talking about making the plunge for a while and I finally did it and I absolutely love it. I got a really good deal at the shop I work at, even though my boss thinks I'm nuts for even doing it (I sold my beautiful '05 Brava to buy this one).

As far as extras go I really haven't put much on excpet a Cateye Velo II computer and a piggy back waterbottle holder in the back. I also put a front brake on with a Shimano lever and Campy Veloce caliper (used of course). Everything else is stock and I'm pretty happy with that for now. I also put a 16t freewheel on there but haven't even used it yet. I've got about 200 miles down in 3 weeks which is alright by me cause I'm so busy with work and what not. Any suggestions would most helpful indeed!

At least a dozen.

ink1373 07-24-05 11:27 PM

would a baker's dozen be pushing it?

Let's not get too crazy.

quote_ink1373 "nice! that bike is like a whisper. very no-frills-beautiful. whats the frame/fork?"

the frame is a soma rush (black marker over the decals).
the forks is a track fork made by a guy who runs the velodrome in zurich. i had to grind a bit of the crown away to get the 23s in there.

Here is my new ride.
After riding my Fuji track for the past few years, I decided it was time to build something from the ground up.

Puig/Curuchet Frame (painted by me, lug outlines done by Stet)
White Velocity Rims (700c back, 650c Front)
Black Spokes
Paul Hub in back
Ultegra in the front
Sugino 75 Cranks
Time ATAC pedals
Nitto Dynamic Stem
Thanks to LegalizeIt for help with the build (and teaching me how to lace up these wheels!)

I hope the pictures actually post....

drac_vamp 07-25-05 11:17 AM

Here's my ride. It's an old Centurian with Suzue flipflop, 42- 18. This bike has introduced me to unused muscles and emotions.

bostontrevor 07-25-05 08:49 PM

Anyone with the gonads to ride that gear ratio and that saddle/stem setup has my admiration. Rock on, Colorado.

Bianchi sells tons of Pistas each year 'cause they're an awesome bike. If you guys think the Pistas aren't so great wait till you see what Raleigh's new track bike looks like...gross.

emayex 07-25-05 11:02 PM

That frame is so awesome. Beautiful color. I really like the XXL seatpost extender thing as well.

no, Bianchi sells tons of Pistas because they're inexpensive and a easy way to get into riding fixed for folks who don't want to hassle with building a bike (and they have a lot of dealers). i've seen Raleigh's new track bike and i think it's a damn sight better looking than the current Pista. i'll take flat grey over chrome any day.

Beautiful. Now what's with that Campy chainring? ;)

Edit - and I guess that Selle saddle... you mean you're not an NJS stickler?!
