It has to be intentionally "industrial" looking because other Ground Up stuff I've seen is really polished and good looking. I guess when you're a frame builder, you can play around with crazy stuff just for fun. |
Eric can do wonders with a torch weld and a bong, i see....
|
not mine, obviously. but today's subject of drooling is jonny's latest completed project. the paint rocks. and check out the pirate details...

why aren't the tires and wheels gold too? they're also missing the whole drivetrain and seat. Lame... they shouldn't show it till it's all gold, preferably solid gold.
|
I think i saw that bike around 50cent's neck once on the way to kissena
|
What. The. ****.
What kind of material is that silly thing made out of? Definitely not steel... |

I love the skull bridge and the stainless top tube protector. I would prefer black fork blades on that one.

Just repainted my old English Road SS to a Metallic Red from the previous flat black....-black- is "sexy" but -red- is "fiery hot". . . . " Ohww make way for the FIRE BREGADE "

Now, I don't like lugs. You all know this. Still, that's ******** hot.
|
that skull and cross bone is ****ing hot
|
i think that clamping mechanism is fairly unsightly. it doesn't fit in with the flow. different - yes, functional - must be, but i just think it makes a large eye sore.
|
are there more pics of that plum colored bike with the sick lugs... i think i'm in love! probably just hungry...

Finally registered after lurking all year.
From Brisbane, Australia, I picked up a 1974 Raleigh Super Course Mk II on ebay and very slowly built it up as I acquired parts. From this seized wreck: http://static.flickr.com/33/46704435_02b70b7f29.jpg To this: http://static.flickr.com/26/46704436_43da5ee3d9.jpg Only changes since the photo are a different stem and some plastic mudguards. The paint is horrid, the chrome good to subpar, the only original parts are the frame/fork/headset, front brake and the chopped bars. It was to be a commuter, a bit of fun, but since the wheels went on I haven't touched my other bike once. I also (with Schraners help) taught myself to build wheels, and apart from when I was hit by a car and trailer by a driver cutting me off, they haven't gone out of true once, I'm still amazed at that. It should tide me over until I can afford to get a frame from www.llewellynbikes.com/main.htm |
