looks interesting. have any bigger pics?

stendhalian 12-19-05 09:54 PM

i do have bigger pics of drive train, etc. but can't for the life of me figure out how to get them a good size and still 100k on here...i found this frame amongst 8 other hacksawed frames behind a top notch roadie shop here in vancouver. it had been crashed (head tube is ovalised, head set bottom cup is jb welded in!) and the seat stays had been crushed (deliberatley i presume so as too discourage dumpstering...) i scooped up the frame and brought to a frame builder who slowly and meticulously bent it back into shape.

the break down is"

shimano 165 dura ace cranks and dura ace 48t chain ring.
MKS unique royal pedals NJS
wipperman chain
dura ace 16t cog
white industries eccentric hub (low end shimano front hub)
alex rims
vittoria rubinos
soma bars
deda 'kurt' stem

any advice on how to post bigger pictures?

are they too big to attach to your message? if so, you need to host them somewhere else and then html them in your message.

the original find...brazes were just screwed in. the paint job started to annoy me...was chipping way
too much so i thought i would clean it up.

The one on the bottom right of my sig is my soon to be single speed commuter. It's not yet, but it will be very soon. It's a 1993 Bridgestone RB-4 with horizontal dropouts. The rear spokes are giving out and the rim is warped and dented. That's my signal for a change to the drivetrain, since hey, if I'm replacing the rim and spokes, why not a new hub too? :D I'll probably run 52-18 or 20.

A stellar achivement for a diver! If I indeed was wearing a hat, which I am not, then it would be off to you, sir! :D

My IRO Mark V. mostly stock, changed out bars to some cheap-o mtn. bike straight bars with red grips, and a Brooks saddle... its not too comfy when its below freezing, and some parts are starting to rust due to the obscene amount of salt on the roads around chicago land.

That bridgestone is hot. I would love to have that bike. Except I would keep it geared. I don't know why, but I have the hots for older road bikes.

I like 'em too. They have a lot of character and aren't so full of today's bling. I'm into functionality over form.

It'll hold a broken spoke in place rather than sending it flying into other undamaged spokes for more spoke-splicing fun.

Here's my old baby, I think I tried to post it on her before...not sure if I was really successful. Anway, I just sold her after 1,000 miles of devotion and am looking for a SS CX bike. I'm thinking of going with the San Jose. Anyway, Here's the link:

Anyone reading this forum ride the San Jose? It's gotten good reviews from the CX people.

you could use something like flickr to upload images. those ads flashing around your bike are pretty annoying.
