It's reinforced everytime I look at the two inch gap above my tire. But thanks for rubbing it in. I really need that in my life.

shants 12-28-05 10:51 AM

no problem!

Here's my first conversion.
Raleigh Competition '82.
The frame is pretty nice 531 w/suntour dropouts. I might repaint. I'm not sure if a like the miami vice scheme.

Another Raleigh! I have an old Record that I love ( even if I don't ride her much)...

Mine's purple and pink, go figure. I like Colnago and Pinarello pastel bikes too, lol.

sweet colorscheme. i like the way the velocity decal pics up the frame. subtle details like that make it.

DerekRI 12-28-05 09:31 PM

your seat is lower than your stem! don't see that too often. did you repaint that?

Mattlikesbikes 12-28-05 09:44 PM

Thanks I originally had a yellow and orange thing going but my Ronald McDonald complex got the best of me

I did have it powder coated. That stem had a ton more drop then my last one and I really liked where my bars where positioned before so that is where it ended up.

i haven't really had a chance to get out and ride i that much, but as far as weight and components and stuff, its not bad. The toe clips that come on it suck, and i desperately need new ones and the cog was loose when i got it, but locktite fixed that. As far as ride quality it's pretty sweet, i've liked it so far, its quick and has a nice ratio

Rattle can with lotsa prep time. Also ground off mounts for shifty bits and added cables stops on frame for rear brake along with rear brake v mounts. Had caliper style stamped steel brakes to start with. YUK!!

My junk yard Azuki 58cent frame and parts from the parts box. So far just using center gear of 5 speed free wheel and cut off large chainring. Shortened handlebar 2 1/2 inches each side and used Grip shift grips with front brake only. Rode it yesterday and it was fun, climbed very steep streets fairly easily and brake worked well. I can see the appeal for single speed bikes, I am 61 years old and this is fun.

Excellent! Having fun is what this is all about.
