Nice!

Are you an importer / exporter or are you just going to focus on the importing side?

Do you want to be my latex salesman?

That front wheel....Is that photoshop at work creating the spoke effect.

I'm sorry, but I can't see why anyone would want to lace a wheel like that? Kick ass bike otherwise.

jacobs 07-08-05 05:13 AM

You'd lace a wheel like that 'cause it looks neat.

exactly - its a twisted lacing...

saw a pair of these on ebay a few weeks ago - pretty rare though..

bostontrevor 07-08-05 08:25 AM

Hey, wow, the rear wheel I'd least want to have! Chub + springy lacing = poor power transfer and premature equipment failure! Sweet!

12XU 07-08-05 08:41 AM

I'll take that Nitto stem off your hands.

raygunner 07-08-05 08:42 AM

You can buy one from Business Cycles...

This is the only pic I have of my ride that will fit on here...Frame is of unknown origin hence the name of "Unknown Plumbing". It is lugged steel & tight geometry. I bought it fully rigged last year off fixedgearfever for $150.00. Been riding and racing mostly on the street in our local street racing club. Got on the track at TTown 1x and hoping to get back there. If you are interested check more racing pics etc at www.sprintclub.org Oh, and if anyone has any insights into the maker or whatever about this frame I would appreciate it...thanks...

jimmat 07-08-05 08:55 AM

sorry the link is actually www.sprintclubrva.org and I realize there isn't much in the picture to go on for info on that frame...thanks anyway

Wait, I thought twisting your spokes made the wheel tougher. Is it tougher yet springy? or just Kinky and springy?

LeMond? Penny Farthing? Olde Tyme Lucas Brunelle? You betcha!

IchbinJay 07-08-05 07:51 PM

A guy came into the shop I work at a few weeks ago with his wheels laced like that...I think it looks neat. I don't see why it wouldn't work for the rear, it's still crossed.

so far so stiff... i read somewhere that twisting spokes was an old school racing technique... sorta like tieing and soldering.
here are some more blurry pics:

no, just violated.

Well, my fixie is rather less impressive than most I've seen here, but I cut, bent, welded and otherwise beat the frame into submission myself, so I'm somewhat proud of it.

Also, was looking at previous posts and loved the mini. Here's mine along with it's little brother and an older, stolen--sniff  --bike. Unfortunately not fixed, but who can argue with the awesome freeriding might of two inches of suspension travel?

Hey any chance you live in Iowa I think I've seen your bike at a shop here do you go to Bickels in Burlington for parts and stuff occasionally as I think I've seen your bike around there before. Then I talked to a mechanic there when I was building my coaster brake bike and he was talking about how he has a fixed gear conversian that he had used a sucide hub on but that the guy who had that bike had just upgraded his wheels to phils and was gonna loan him the bonty's. If its not you just disregard anything I said.

Built this a few days ago. Rode it around all day today, it rides really nicely.
Specs are in the "lets build a keirin bike" thread.
Columbus tubing + NJS builder + njs parts = a really fun bike

That's beautiful.

Recently I've noticed that the hottest bike pics are coming out of SF. I hope you guys are riding those bikes into the ground.

bostontrevor 07-10-05 01:18 AM

Spank!

The only thing I don't get is the bars. Why not just wrap them all up in tape if you're going to all that trouble?
