I love the way the bars look, but riding bare-handed today after a rain made for some slippery grip. $5 workingbikes special, stem and bars. AS far as the 'quitter' goes - sometimes there are better things to tend to in the last minutes before action. I call it "hanging out with Skitbra, eating pizza and drinking beer." Not planned that way, just happened that way. I can live with it. There will be more races, just as there were ones before this one. |

Nice ones turd. The colour schemes are sweet indeed. It only furthers my plans on getting a butter vanilla paintjob for my next bike (hopefully a custom, maybe a Vanilla).

alright, so i need to follow turd's ex's beauties...so here's mine. we finally got a new digital camera after realizing that the old (and cheap) one wasn't compatible with our computers.
major specs: -early '80s(?) nishiki, nice lugs and trim -surly hub in rear, suzue cheapo up front, both 36h -sunrims cr18, 27" front and rear -dura-ace 170 road cranks -TA chainring -shimano spd's -wtb saddle -new fsa headset, jis specs -nitto pearl stem -nashbar riser bars -1 1/8" (28mm) vittora zaffiro tires it's a fun ride, and 44/17 does me well for seattle's hills. |
habitus : it's a testament to any bike and its rider if it can pull of fenders with flair :P
check www.fixedgeargallery.com in a few days for my ex's bob jackson profile wtih full descriptive rundown. |

Sweet, sweet bike. Wait did I say sweet? Well, just in case, sweet. That bike makes me mumble to myself.

thanks. it's a custom build for a friend of mine, and when he had to sell to make rent, i was there to break the fall. i've been experimenting with stems & bars to get the fit right.

Here are a couple of my fixed/singlespeeds.
The first one is my Robin Hood fixed gear. Old brand made by Raleigh. Not sure how old. I'm thinking late '60's or early '70's. Suzue flip flop with19 tooth cog (was 18-didn't feel right). Stronglight cranks with 52 tooth chainring. I cheated and put on a front brake. One of my favorite bikes. The second is my Lemond Chambray single speed. One of the guys at work gave me the frame. A customer gave him the frame. Frame's good but paint is all screwed up. Vertical dropouts but I played around with the gearing and was able to use a 39x14 combination with no tensioner. Nice for short rides around the park. The last is my single speed mountain bike. It's an old GT with track dropouts. Surly Fixer with a 18 tooth freewheel. I've got a 34 and a 44 chainring on the front. Depending on the terrain, I can take/add links (two SRAM master links). Something different just for fun. |
