it's not that bad.... thing must ride solid though.

letsthrowfries 02-27-08 08:56 PM

I'm using drops when I get my front brake, then I can go fast and not have to worry about it-

I'm apologize for riding parts I like!

I know, I know, I know! Form over function! I forgot!

I should've conformed to the new nonconformist style of our already esoteric subculture and got dainty box sectioned (hard-to-tire-replace) tubular rims, deep unwrapped track drops, and a turbo concor or regal.

Well, maybe not. Hopefully my next build will get the approval of the bffgss fashion crimes tribunal!

i don't think anyone is being rude, they are just voicing their opinion. no harm no foul, mate.

I know, I didn't mean to sound all vituperative either. I'm just playing around too.

Just trying to waste some time while my laundry is washing.

Oh yeah, and thanks mike for the horns- just chopped off the scratched part and thanks shants for the $$ for the chainring you helped build this monstrosity- that's why you're being nice to it! :p

jgarcia186 02-27-08 09:03 PM

aw I got ya. no worries

letsthrowfries 02-27-08 09:04 PM

It's so hard to communicate when you can't determine the person's intonation, inflection, tone- et cetera.

agreed. its best to just let it roll off your back. If you like your bike, ride it. I think its a gorgeous frame, i would have built it differently, but I'm not you so what does it matter?

jgarcia186 02-27-08 09:09 PM

for sure. I really like your frame though. what size is it? where'd you find it?

jgarcia186 02-27-08 09:13 PM

New and Improved with brake and 17t cog. Oh and a flat tire too.

Well Jgarcia, I happen to like your bike completely, yellow and purple were my high school colors (and I have a skimboard that's yellow and purple).

jgarcia186 02-27-08 09:23 PM

Thanks. I had the Purple spray lieing around and said **** it. Also I'm from Louisiana so the Tiger Pride dosent hurt either. : )

That gives me an idea. Maybe spraying my bike white and blue will help prevent my fellow Torontonians from kicking my wheels in.

But what if an Ottawa fan in town for the game sees it?

Better stick to black...

I didn't know where else to post this, plus the majority are single speeds and the other two are from different categories. But this is my dorm before and after adjusting my bikes for my surround sound.

Before:

After:

I saved the space of two bikes.

I assume you mean rings?

Well, one's a Specialized Allez with a double and the other an Fisher Cake with a triple, but it's a full suspension mountain bike so I'd say it's forgivable.

bward1028 02-27-08 10:50 PM

no no, i mean your dorm room.

it seems like most of lugged frame can't do barspin....right? idk..

It has nothing to do with it being lugged, and everything to do with the rake of the fork.

Flat tire = no dice, though now you 're putting the miles on the pinarello.
I dig it, but you knew that.
