they're angled up a little bit for that extra pull on uphill sprints. im switching them out though, buying some big long bullhorns from a friend just for extra lean and comfort (putting my seat up a little higher, mind you im 6'5" with a 34" inseam.)

Or "you're a girl, let me fiddle with your seat"?

Or he just didn't notice that very small frames have very funny proportions. Due to the size of the 700C wheels, the wheelbase and seattube length can't go down under a certian value, so you end up with little seatpost showing, I guess. So, at first glance, it sure looks like the frame is too large or the saddle is too low.

Props on the bar wrap, luggedwithlove. Looks fantastic. And that blue frame is sort of wierd and wonderful with the bent seatstays.

Did you meet Matt at Last year's Naccc? Really nice stuff for a new builder. clean lug lines and a good sense of aesthetics.

This is my first post in this forum, so this doubles as an introduction (albeit a crappy one).

Hi everyone.

Here's my bicycle:

http://velospace.org/files/fixedupweb1.jpg

It's my first fixed gear.

The frame was given to me by my aunt last Thanksgiving, and I've been doing small bits of work and changing parts since then. The angles on the bars and saddle look a little off because of the angle of the picture, but contrary to how they appear, they are level.

For a parts list, go here

hey, what's your name? I see that you did prom race, but I don't recognize the bicycle. i'm aaron, you may or may not know me. i ride the **** out of some bikes.

Yeah, I did the prom race. I rode a full suspension mountain bike for it as it was all I had at the time. My team didn't do well.

Yeah, I know you, you live about two blocks north of me and I told you I put together a fixed a week ago in Taco Ninja. Ringing a bell?

Update on my Miyata conversion. Its is "fixed" now. Keeping the freewheel on the other side, just in case. Pulling the back brake off tonight!!!! Don't want to make her too pretty, trying to keep it semi beater looking. click here for more pix! <<<<The reflective 1's on the seat stays are my brother's doing. 11's is the fire station he works at here in Houston. He had some extra numbers from his fire helmet and just put them on the bike.

what's with the "secret" frame?

eddiebrannan 02-07-06 06:06 PM

motobecane messenger

Fugazi Dave 02-07-06 06:08 PM

The "secret" frame is someone else's frame. The Erba is not yet physically in my possession, so the picture with both of them is all I've got at the moment.

ink1373 02-07-06 06:18 PM

FD, i'm a little surprised. you're the staunchest "new-tech" fan on the board.
