I love the promenades (I've got a set on my light cargo bike) but I'm not sure about that brake lever or placement...something just seems a little off. Maybe just using a regular mountain or cruiser lever in the 'normal' place??

I ate a "Genuine San Francisco Mission Style Burrito" in New Brunswick, NJ.

Jesus wept.

I had a burrito in Provo, Utah, and it didn't come from Taco Bell. Learn from my mistakes.

was it a place called "chevys"?

If I may, I'd like to chime in on all this burrito talk. San Francisco burittos, which I've eaten over a hundred of, easily, pale in comparison to the burittos in Texas. Tex-Mex food and burittos are the bomb. I'm interested in this place you guys call "Taco Ninja." I might have to take a trip to Columbus next time I have the munchies.

Try El Farolito on 24th@Mission

the jury is still out. i've only been riding these for a couple days, and only had enough cable to mount the brake lever on the front. so far it hasn't been a problem, but i would like to try an ATB style cable on the grips.

the nice thing about the promennades is all the various hand positions. really comfy.

thanks. i love my english frames, but a wouldn't turn down a nice lugged keirin either!

as an aside, i would not recommend these cork grips. they look & feel great, but are so brittle. both ripped when i installed them on the first part of the curve, and tonite when i did the leg-swing-over-bars dismount i kicked the grip and half of it broke off.

cork is for wine.

This build necessitates a pipe in one's mouth and a copy of Le Monde under the arm.

Really cool.

Now that's just crazy talk.

46x17 02-08-06 08:26 PM

Chino's has the best carnitas burrito in town!
And guess what mission hipster boys it is on 36th Ave and Balboa!

Judah 02-08-06 08:34 PM

Are any of you actually mexican and grew up eating the bomb food your grandma made? That's what I thought. Corneta or farolito which is next door if you want a torta...

46x17 02-08-06 08:41 PM

No but I grew up in Switzerland which is the ultimate expert when it comes to Mexican food.

Judah 02-08-06 08:43 PM

When you recommend a swiss restaurant I'll take note, haha.
What you up to for lunch tomorrow? Want to go on a ride?

ink1373 02-08-06 08:45 PM

adamkell 02-08-06 08:52 PM

I think there is one Swiss restaurant in the city - needless to say it is the best!

Regarding tomorrow. Can't do ride :(. Too much work. But weekend is ride time.
Friday is on first eat at the golden _____ then ride. Or ride then eat then ride. I'll give you call on Friday.
And to end this highjack here a little picture:

ink1373 02-08-06 09:04 PM

damn! judah, i must say that THAT is some tough competition.

Judah 02-08-06 09:18 PM

Sorry, corneta food is too good, I never have time for a picture before I wolf that **** down. :p

The only meat I eat is seafood, and they have amazing prawns. Plus, the green salsa they have there is the best I've had, and I used to be a cook at a place in AZ and had to make all kinds of salsas every morning before opening the restaurant.

I can't talk too much crap though, I've never been to Claytons place, so I'll give it a shot next time I'm out there. It's right by D and D huh? Was just out there yesterday, he's got a couple of dope waterford street-track rides right now. Both with his shift-lever brake setup.

EnzoRWD 02-08-06 09:24 PM

here is my newest addition to the 3rensho, some free look pedals. i kind of wanted to know what it would feel like to ride a fixie w/ clipless, so i just put some pedals on. its really fun.
on another note, these are already way better than my spd pedals, despite being old and used....

Yeah the image is not from any place I have ever been to but simply lifted off of google to get you all hungry. Chino's is okay for other non-carnitas burritos but there are a couple of other places that could top their non-carnitas burrito for sure. It is their Carnitas burrito though that really rules hard. MMMMMMMM pig! Will head to corneta this weekend and will review. DD cycles rules! Did you see the Jack Taylor tracks he has? Very nice. Thumbshifter brakes are special!
