I emailed fizik, maybe they will tie it up? :(

maybe you can save the tape? i re-wrapped my black fizik tape and it's honestly not the worst thing i've ever done to a bike.

Probably not if you're at fault. they more than likely wont give you new tape if you just don't know how to wrap bars...

I'm not looking for free tape, I told them I want to BUY some. I picked up some cloth tape for the interim, and to practice with so I don't screw up another decent roll. They just don't have that particular colour available on it's own. I mean, it's not like tape lasts forever anyway. Eventually it would need replacing anyway...

Here is a Youtube video, maybe that will help?

Or ask someone in the Toronto thread to show you how to do it one day....I did mine in front of MEC a couple of weeks ago in about 5 mins (it was an emergency).

I've re-wrapped with Fizik 3 times by running electric tape along the leading edge since the adhesive comes off after removal. just wondering how did you ruin it?

Skipped (forgot) the step of scoring the tape along the end to know where to cut when finishing, tried to "eyeball" it, failed, failed, failed, realized I no longer had enough tape to cover the tops in any halfway decent manner, decided to cut my losses and at least cover the drops, still uglified the finish job. It's not COMPLETELY horrible, but I know it's a hack job, and it's going to drive my nuts until I fix it.

I've been going over the videos and pictorials and how-tos all night at work, I'm sure next time will go better. The black cloth is okay for a while but... I just love the look of that brown (and don't want to go leather)...

Yeah I love that tape! not great in the rain without gloves though, but it's beautiful and cheap. Good luck tracking some down.

matching your saddle angle with that of your deep drop stem is not particularly well-advised, chief.

madeinjpn 06-30-08 08:32 AM

What frame is that.

It probably stands at too much of an angle with the kickstand.

All the lololol'ing and people don't bother thinking of obvious and reasonable explanations.

My new rain bike

My new "backup" bike. I took all the componants off my IRO groupbuy (that I sold last week) and put them on this cheap bikeisland frame. This is the frame you get from bikeisland for $120. I removed the decals, it was an SE Lager. These are the carbon Kinesis forks they sell for $90. :thumb:

Looks really good. That frame for the price seems like an alright deal IMO
