Attending that your bicycle seems to be build with gas pipe, how much does it weight now?

what?
It could be made of gas pipe, i wouldnt know. its heavy but i think its the wheels, i took the wheels off and the frame wasnt so bad...

again, what?

"Gas pipe" means that it is made of a fairly thick and heavy grade of steel tubing. If you find that you like riding single speed, it may be worth keeping your eye out for a nicer old steel road bicycle frame. It will be a significantly nicer ride and worth the trouble.

I'm always looking for a road frame, always.

Well with this bike the derailers were falling apart and the cables were getting so dry and old, so i tried to make it a SS, and it worked out... and its great, but those tires suck on road...

I wouldn't like to disappoint you, but even the cranks seem to be steel the solid heavy type. I would suggest aluminium simple 36 hole wheels and a set of nice aluminium cranks that you can replace the chain wheels. You do not need to buy these things new because your bicycle is not the best candidate for a single speed. Just visit a couple of shops in the are and buy parts of the bin.

Those lugs rock! Can't wait to see the finished product. How far out do you think you are from finishing?

Here is my SS speed 29er mtb turned drop barred fixed gear cross.

The jumbo Serotta is nice. It would fit me. I need to take some pics of my Falcon conversion and find a wheelset for the Paramount track bike I picked up (a steal btw).

operator 07-23-06 04:12 PM

What kind of stem is that? I need something with a steep drop like that
