You should see the headbadge. Is it the standard DW, or did you go for the one like teadogg's?

Vintage Alan
I've had a soft spot for the old narrow-tube aluminum bikes ever since riding a Vitus in the 80's. I didn't listen to the snobs who told me it was whippy, flexible, creaky, and would fall apart in the first season. That Vitus took more abuse than any road bike I've ever had. Anyway, I really wanted to find one for a SS project, but never found one without vertical dropouts (did 100% have verts?). So when I saw this Alan frame on e-bay, I decided to take a flyer, even though it is from the Carter Administration, and will probably "fall apart after one season." :D
I then built it up mostly with spare parts from the garage of the guy who sold it to me. I actually like how it sits right now... but the piece-by-piece upgrade process will be fun! (Sorry, I know most of you are fixies -- I'll get there eventually!) http://www.smugmug.com/photos/85662113-L.jpg http://vmac.smugmug.com/photos/85662114-L.jpg |

"Lugged" alloy? Cool? Looks good though. What's pinned and glued involve besides the obvious. How is it possible to effectively glue metal? Specially alloy.
