works okay if you adjust the fender to give it a bit more clearance in the back, but still...

Wow, I am so glad I read this before I put fenders on my San Jose. I would have so totally not thought about having to remove the rear wheel from the back and the fender being in the way. Thanks guys!

First day on it, so I can't really tell you much. It is comfy right out of the box unlike a Brooks. Much better than that faux leopard spongy seat that came on the bike. Luckily my daughters all love it and are fighting over who gets to put it on their bike...I'll post up a full review of the Titanico once I have had a chance to ride it for a while.

edub 08-18-06 10:15 AM

yo, is that front wheel larger tan the rear??... I think you need a matching rear deep V.

tight clearance

sloppy robot 08-18-06 10:21 AM

no way.. he needs a matching front campy wheel.. how are the iro cranks? i kinda really like their style

The rear wheel is a loaner from the shop until a) the rebuild my wheel that some ****** rolled over and b) I can afford to pick up the wheel.

Helluva a loaner though! NJS hub/Campy rim. And the front wheel isn't larger than the back, I think it's the angle that I took the picture from. It also makes the seat look WAY more tilted than it really is.

I love the IRO cranks. Love the wheels too.

I wanted a pavement monster and I have it. She does ok in the dirt going 5mph but she's made 4 the hard stuff. Besides no mountains in Joliet/Chicago. But I am taking this bike with me to Tokyo later in the year :)

ZachS 08-18-06 07:07 PM

i've said this before, but this time i mean it. i'm never going back to R&A. avoid that place.

in brooklyn i think your best bet is bicycle station. i've never been there but have heard good things. my personal shop of choice is Bike Works in the LES. i've never had any work done by trackstar, but they are good folks and i frequently buy parts from em.

thanks for the heads up..might hit up bicycle station this weekend. if im at work i swing by sids on 34th..they seem like good peeps..

sivat 08-19-06 04:59 PM

Getting close...
http://naughtylittlemonkey.org/almost.jpg

The stem is just a cheap thing I got from icycles to hold the fork and work off of to get the right size and drop. I'm picking up the cranks as soon as I get paid.

DoshKel 08-19-06 05:10 PM

Looking classy. That Brooks has a very nice touch with the frame color.

I thought so too. I got both the brooks and the wheels in the mail yesterday. It was a big day! I thought i wanted a setback black thompson seatpost, but now i'm thinking something more classic might look better.

humancongereel 08-19-06 06:47 PM

bareknuckles are yummy.
