My two bicycles. My singlespeed Schwinn Collegiate, and my soon to be singlespeed Diamondback TG.

By the way...ink, that bike is ridiculously dirty...and I like it.

bostontrevor 08-16-06 01:51 PM

The frame is my oh-so-special ANT which I've cooed about before. Nothing weird about the stem/bars except that the stem is actually too short. I just haven't got around to getting one that fits. I've got a few too long and one just right on a different bike.

I LOVE the Surly. Please, Hammer, don't hurt 'em.

edit: and yes, it really is that shade of green. I asked Mike for "a light mint green" like http://www.scrapbookingshortcuts.com.au/p113.shtml. He knows a guy in...Umm..Philly maybe, that he says just does a fabulous job powder coating. I have to concur, it's a very nice even gloss job. Unfortunately, I've already scratched it a bit, but whatcha gonna do, it's a bike, right?

joshua88 - none of your images are showing up for me. just putfile.com adverts.

sure its a cheap, tiawanese steel frame, but it's also exactly what I want. it tours, it singletracks, it eats potholes for breakfast and if i wreck it (difficult), i can afford a new one in two paychecks. this bike makes all of your track bikes piss their pants and flee in shame.

for me, the only way to improve upon it would be to get a custom lugged replica with a slightly shorter top tube and a threaded fork...and i'll probably do that someday.

and i resent the moniker "conversion". it was never converted. track ends are the stupidest thing in the universe when you want to mount fenders. (ask anyone who has ever assembled a redline 9-2-5).

+1 -- someone at redline must have been asleep at the wheel when they decided to sell a bike with track ends and fenders.

works okay if you adjust the fender to give it a bit more clearance in the back, but still...

My bad about the whole conversion thing. I just saw the derailleur hanger tab and thought it was a conversion, and I didn't see any fenders or anything. Like I said though, your bike looks like more fun to ride than anything else on here. I dig it.

Learn_not2burn 08-16-06 03:03 PM

Wow, that **** is amazing. gorgeous. absolutely perfect. everything on your bike is perfection.

i don't find threadless stems to be any better than threaded ones.

all things being equal, i tend to go for the option that isn't completely ass-ugly.

haha thanks. this is my first experience with bullhorns/chopnflips and i love em. super comfy and just how i like to ride. i wrapped these in cork, then cloth too. quite comfy.

onetwentyeight 08-16-06 03:25 PM

great looking circle a. almost 100% american, eh? cool!

evanyc 08-16-06 03:32 PM

yeah. the things that aren't american are:

rims
bars
chain
tires
saddle
pedals
and the current stem but that'll be fixed soon.

the australian rims i'm cool with because velocity is a small worker owned company, but i'd still be into getting some american bars, pedal, saddle. stuff that'll be replaced occasionally such as tires, tube, and chain i'm not too worried about.

mcatano 08-16-06 04:04 PM

Evan's bike = game over.

baldylocks 08-16-06 04:18 PM

Good lord that things hot. Is the Woody Guthrie quote on all their bikes or just yours?

Joshua88 08-16-06 05:10 PM

Sorry about that. Here's a good one.

evanyc 08-16-06 06:58 PM

baldylocks 08-16-06 07:13 PM

That only makes it hotter. I totally have a crush on your bike.

shishi 08-16-06 07:23 PM
