slap some b123's on there..... would look so sexy, just sayin. ^^^^

popluhv 12-12-06 08:57 PM

Leave the bars, just cut off the extra steerer tube and remove all but one spacer. I did that with my pista, and was happy ever since (until I sold the bike, sniff, sniff).

ryand 12-12-06 08:59 PM

maybe the bar set up fits him how it is...

What does that have to do with anything?

ryand 12-12-06 09:06 PM

why change the bars or cut off the steerer tube and remove all the spacers if it fits him properly now.

kalani79 12-12-06 09:11 PM

Um, ryan, it's not about fit. It's about hawt secksy bikecycles.

freeskihp 12-12-06 09:15 PM

right now they are just some old ****ty drops taken from a schwinn world so I think anything would look better

why not just get a stem with a steeper drop if I was going to do anything? I normally have bullhorns on there so this was just for kicks and to go fast

I hope to change the bars though if I stick with drops b/c right now when I am out of the saddle, my lower arms are hitting the flat portion of the bar.

Watch your mouth when you're referring to anything your senior that you depend dearly on.

freeskihp 12-12-06 09:21 PM

the ****ty-ness was not coming from the old but rather the fact that they were removed from a schwinn world on a whim

If you just cut it off, it looks sexier. If you cut it off and flip the stem, it is still sexier and fits ~same.

Picked this girl up today off of craigslist... still need to make her mine, give
me a couple weeks. Running single speed right now, I'll switch over to fixed
once I get used to the change from a road bike. I can't keep my eyes off
this thing and it's a blast to ride.

I just picked this up off craigslist. It's an old huffy professional councours set up SS. I wasn't very happy of the idea of it being a huffy but the frame is very solid and I think it looks pretty nice. So far from the little test rides I've taken it rides like a dream. I'm going to get new pedals, a seat post and a saddle for it as sooon as I can. The idea is to turn it fixed and brakeless before too long.

(this pic is from before I took ownership, I'll take a better one in the morning)

huffy did make some very nice bikes back in the day.
or should I say, some very nice bikes made by serotta were badged as huffys back in the day...
same for some decent frames made by raleigh/carlton

I've been trying to figure out the manufacturer for a little while now, there was an other thread where people were discussing this bike and everyone had a different idea. I've heard Carlton, Motobecane, and Raleigh. Any way I like the way it's built and am very happy with my purchase. Now I just gotta get off my ass and take it for the true test ride, my own freezing ass cold booze cruise.
