Thanks! Good lookin' out on the Imp, if you're gonna do it might as well get the SL, those are so indestructable. I had originally contemplated one of those, but I did'nt think I really needed anything THAT burly. When I ride the .243 it's mostly street anyway with some trails thrown in every once in a while.

I really want to build up a Sovreign as a trail bike so badly, but that frame new is so damn pricey. I had an opprtunity to get a black one used for $500, but could'nt come up with the money at the time. Meh, there will be others.

I'm not a fan of Pistas. Not a detractor, either, but not a fan. That said, your Pista is sex. Rock.

Older pic, it has gold risers now with white ourys.

KHS track, Miche, Deep-V, MKS, Nitto, ****in' awesome Michelin Giro D'Italia Tires.

How 'bout that rain, huh? That bike deserves the matching rear tire again.

Almost embarrassed to post my modest bike on here, considering the blingage that goes on. ;)

My first road conversion. Built on a serious budget, but rides real nice. Phil hubs, "vintage" rigida alloy rims, Brooks Professional, Soma clips, Dura Ace BB, Icon ergo bars, Nitto Technomic stem, and pretty much everything else is Shimano 600.

i have been trying to score some of those tires off ebay for forever

By serious budget do you mean "I had the company credit card and went wild budget"?

Good looking bike, don't worry about what other people are riding, you'll find some bling and make us all go "ooooh" one day too.

Are you kidding? That's a very solid bike.

Just got this beast running.

1981 Bianchi Track Bike 57cm
Full Campangolo Super Record Group
Selle Italia Turbo Saddle
NOS Blue Ambrosio Rims
super terrible plastic test ride pedals untill I fix my campy pedals

I got the bike for a song from someone who had it in storage since 1982. The bike is basically new and I am a very happy camper.

Ha! I wish. The "company credit card" directly drains my bank account, as I am self-employed. ;)

Budget means $300 and lots of patience on ebay, craigslist, and scrounging in the bins at the LBS.

Pretty happy with it so far - going to add some fenders to deal with Portland winter weather, and get some Kool-Stop pads for the brakes. The rims don't have that many miles left, so I'll prob replace them with something classy that can support my beefy clyde ass. ;)

Nice. Is it really green, or is it Celeste? Might just be the pic. :)

That bike rocks my socks clean off. If you're gonna have a Cross-Check, you better do it well, and gosh darn it, you've done it well.

How's about the lowdown on the bars and flaps?

marqueemoon 12-22-06 12:44 AM

Thanks. I'm really digging it. The bars are Specialized BB-1 dirt drops, circa 1991. They flare like mad. The mudflaps are Buddyflaps.

12XU 12-22-06 12:44 AM

I spy: Mercian, XO-2, some other lugged beauties. God damn, good taste my friend.

Thanks. The Mercian is my gf's and that's her Torelli behind the XO-2. Thankfully she goes along with this madness.

DasProfezzional 12-22-06 01:06 AM

What kind of fenders are they, then? Was it easy to get the flaps on?

The fenders are SKS (I removed the logo on the rear one to make room for more reflective tape). You have to drill holes in the fenders to install the flaps, but the flaps have holes pre-drilled and come with hardware.

borrachobandito 12-22-06 02:25 AM
