My crappy Norco Fixed gear conversion in the stand(52X21) and my Single Speed chopper(46X15) on the left. My very messy garage all around. |

look closely at the paganini. the front wheel is further away from the camera than the rear wheel is. the perspective is making you think it's all wonky.

Also, that rear end is ridiculously tight. that stem is what i had the bars on (a 100mm stem will feel better actually, that one is 120) the seat can easily be adjusted as can the wheel in the drop outs...good lord, do you think a bike is built up then not fine tuned... |

Re: ridiculously tight rear...
it looks like you can't even slide the wheel all the way forward with the tire inflated..... that seems rather not-useful. |

I just don't get the idiots around here. Why rag on another bike? Asthetics arguments can be interesting, mechanical suggestions educational...but pissing for distance just leaves a stink. |

As for the tire fit "problem", is this really an issue for street riding? When would you need to take the wheel off? When you have a flat, and in that situation the tire has already been deflated courtesy of a thorn/shard o' glass/syringe, etc... For the track (where you might need to change gearing frequently) you're probably going to be running skinnier tires anyway. As for fit comments, they only time I ever feel compelled to say something is if the person is complaining of pain/discomfort and clearly does not know any better. Chances are good that I would run a 120mm stem if I had a custom frame built. 120mm is not even close to "wicked long" in my book. Bike fit is a series of compromises. If you are tall and want a short wheelbase a longer stem is how you make it happen. Anybody who wants to talk smack about fit should really look at chimblysweep's bikes. There is no one right way to fit a bike, or even different bikes for the same person. |
