Sasha - those flat bars better be pantographed!

12XU 02-23-07 09:57 PM

This bike is so svelte that for at least 5 seconds, I failed to notice the bars.

sashae 02-23-07 09:59 PM

Well, I've got a set of 3TTT Pista bars that I'm not sure I like. I'm not sure I like the flat bars either, but the bike looked clean with them on... so yeah.

You gonna install a bunch of mirrors on that bike and get yourself a parka? Piaggio...very nice. G-Groups are nice too. PM me if you need help finding one, NOS. There is a shop I know...

dear god, I cannot stop staring at this bike.

That comment reminds me of this pic I snapped in Minneapolis:

No prob. Lot's o' Super Record. My track and road bike both have the same bar/stem/saddle, so it's a nice transition.

Yeah, thats why I prefaced it with "not to sound rude" I mean, we all love looking at "stylish" bikes on the interweb, and practical or not, someone rides them... I was just hoping someone could convince me they are good for something other than he owner's visual preference. Narrow, wide, whatever, ride the crap out of em and rock on.

number18 02-23-07 11:43 PM

I like the bike, jeac.

I cut my conversion's flat bars down to the minimum also--the guys at the LBS joked that it was so I could ride with handcuffs on. added bonus, in my book. the thing is, I ride with my hands next to the stem by choice, so I see no reason to have extra **** hanging off there. and dutret, I have never lost control of my bike hitting a pothole or sewer grate, even with my hands next to my stem. even, gasp, riding without hands. chill out.

also, the rossins? damn hot.

moki 02-24-07 02:01 AM

There used to be this resto in Montreal called Italasia. They served repellent food like ginger pork ravioli and Fettucini in peanutbutter sauce. That restaurant just straight up sucked - worst of all worlds. This bike is not like that at all.

crust & crumb 02-24-07 07:14 AM

endo shi- i like the paint scheme and graphics on rossins, yours especially.

edit: DOWN WITH UNICROWNS. thanks.

white chain...

Serendipper 02-24-07 12:01 PM

Bianchi should just go ahead and release a new model:

"The San Francisco"

Comes with a decal removal kit and one front aerospoke, factory installed.

onetwentyeight 02-24-07 12:07 PM

I was in freewheel about a month ago and there was a kid in there who looked aroudn 15 or 16, a little chubby with glasses and braces, and a bareknuckle with flat bars and a white aerospoke. His bike probably cost 3 times what mine did. a little of me died inside. oh well, i hope he rides the **** out of that thing, looked like he'd been stuck inside playing video games a bit too long and the exercise would do him well.

Serendipper 02-24-07 12:09 PM

We are such teh prudes...

...probably just jealous of the kids and their snap/hyphy/poole palace/MTVCribs throwaway trend lifestyle.

onetwentyeight 02-24-07 12:12 PM

heh. ah id probably waste my money on ridiculous stuff more often if I could afford it, im not gonna lie.

stendhalian - nice sig!!

surprisingly good quality and ride. the stock paint was a little loud so i painted it flat gray and then roughed it up a bit.

Next thing you know, all the messengers will be adding decals to their The San Francisco, replacing the Aerospoke with a 36h 3x DT Swiss wheel, and adding brakes and drop bars.
