Oh yeah, and I dig that bike, too... |

Here's my Bianchi. Approximately an '86 with Columbus tubing and a mix of Italian, Taiwanese, and American parts. She's been beat to hell and still rides quite nicely on the way to and from work everyday here in Sunny SoCal.

Mmmm Bianchi.

Sweet Bianchi, what bars are those, raygunner?
Love the turtle bell. |
Here's my fixed gear bike. It's a handmade 531 track frame by R. Cossey, made right here in New Zealand.
Most of the components are no-names, save for the Cinelli handlebars. I think the lugs on this are really cool, they're a little more straight - angled than most. I did a rough as guts paint job on them to highlight them. I've enjoyed riding fixed, it is a totally different experience to gears / coasting. It took me a little while to 'get' fixed, but once I did, it's been great fun. Having said that, I'm selling this bike. I don't think fixed gear riding is paticularly practical in Auckland, and to be perfectly honest, I don't feel that safe on it. I've been over the handlebars once, and in a sudden stop situation, my first instinct is to slam on the brake without backpeddling. I know that with practise and time, I would get over this, but a friend of mine has just smashed up his leg in a traffic accident (admittedly on a scooter rather than a bike), and life is too short for that. Thanks to all those in the SS / FG forum who've given me inspiration to build this bike, and all the entertainment. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ne73/bike1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ne73/bike2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ne73/bike3.jpg |

I decided to build up my Colnago Fixie again. I had some thoughts on doing a restoration but this would be easier on my wallet and you can never go wrong with a fixed gear.
I hope the pics go through I also have some pics of my SingleSpeed Stumpjumper :D |

Wow, it's pretty hard to keep up with all of these pretty bikes. It seems the bar is raised with every post. Hope this doesn't disappoint ;-)
At the last Seattle bike swap meet, I scored a Boston Baked Bean Steamroller. The parts are from my gray Steamroller. Velocity Fusion rims, Vredestein Fortezza rubber, King headset, Sugin0 75 cranks, Profile Stoker bars with a Ritchie stem.....Oh and a Velosteel coaster brake .... of course. Sadly, the bar wrap doesn't go as well with the brown as it did with the gray ... it's such a pain to redo. Jim |
Brookyln, how many teeth are on that cog? and is that a Normandy hub?
|
Here is a link to the new single speed road bike I built yesterday. www.surlyrider.com/mysingle.htm
Dont mind the bad spelling on that page. It will be updated soon. If you own a surly, email me to add it to my site. |
Haha that bike has an insanely tight wheelbase in that pic! Methinks you need to review your html image proportions on that page
|
that is def the case.

..used to be red and rusty! It's a 52cm Bianchi, I don't know how old but could be from the 80's. |
