What is the deal with that chainring?

You could make this into a Major Taylor replica.

Then maybe, only dumb people would make fun of it.

However, platforms on a fixed gear?

Those cranks and pedals belongs on an exercise bike. And I don't mean like those at the gym or spinning class, but like the exercise bike that my grandma had in her condo in Florida.

Got my wife's Bridgestone together finally. Just waiting for a brake lever.
She hasnt ridden it yet at all. Just adjusted stuff for her. She's ridden mamachari all her life so its kind of a big change for her. Should be fun though.
Thanks to br995 for the purple wheel sponsorship. :)

your wifes bike is nicer than mine!:)

bonechilling 08-08-07 06:03 PM

Your wife is pushing a pretty serious gear.

deathhare 08-08-07 06:05 PM

haha...not really. 47/17

eMwolB 08-08-07 06:33 PM

Das Dope! (I talk that way to embarass my kids!) That 'Stone is serious!

br995 08-08-07 07:13 PM

Not purple. Eggplant.

edit: Come to think of it, those wheels originally came with black and red tires that would help tie the wheelset in with the rest of the bike (and get those tires out of my room). The red would match pretty well. I'll give you those if I can get the maxxis' back.

deathhare 08-08-07 07:17 PM

Plum Crazy Purple :)
Yeah she said she wants the red ones if you want these back.

I know its not ss/fg... but it almost was until I was talked out of doing the conversion...

so Its my first multi-speed ride since... well, I haven't ever had one.. (BMX as a kid)

I hope I don't get flamed for it being not fixed, I like you all better than the road forum....

I will take some better pics when i have some day light, I just got it put together and had a test ride.

And yes i will my grips are on the way... and the final paint is up in the air at the moment.

I get that risers are trendy, and maybe you need a new stem for some reason or another, but why on earth would you replace a perfectly good wheelset that is "less than a week old"?
