It is a mechanical linkage, not just a simple caliper. It operates similarly to a centerpull (which work very well), but without the weight disadvantage and inefficiencies.

The next person to quote a **** ton of pictures gets banned.

Grips + new pedals + bottle cage. Also changed gearing for 48/17, still too low, will put a 16 cog next week.

Plz don't quote pictures.

Nice Madison. Strip the paint off the fork ftw.

Just for the sake of it.

SkyeC 08-09-07 03:23 PM

you know, i kinda like those reflectors on the kona that's been posted six million times over. time to co-opt reflectors!

paulwwalters 08-09-07 03:52 PM

I find them pointless seeing as there's no front or rear reflectors. But it's one sweet bike!

wood grain biatch! (haven't done the front fork yet but i got sick of working on it.)

it should look slightly less absurd when i swap out the stem, handlebars, seatpost, saddle, and wheels for white components. but, looking absurd is sorta the point i guess.

nick burns 08-09-07 04:38 PM

Shag carpet saddle and tape for that woodgrain!

Ok, maybe not.

that would be sweet. might be a little warm in the summer though, and i'm not sure about it's moisture-wicking abilities. :p

I like that they're orange and not clear.

bonechilling 08-09-07 07:02 PM

Here's an update on my bike with the temporary brake that keirin riders use for training on the street or getting to the velodrome. It sure beats drilling holes!

How effective is it? I don't know. I haven't used it in a month of riding. But, it's there for emergencies.

Honestly with that woodgrain it would look better with everything black, including fork and the rest of the frame that's not wood (finished).
