Fixed is SO much fun in the dirt. I've got a SS/FG Rob Roy built up that I take out to the trails and tear around on after work pretty regularly. I love kicking up dirt and rocks as I drift through corners. :) I haven't done any CX racing yet but I'd like to give it a shot this year.

it is fun. i like having control in the muck - but it took me awhile to get used to not coasting. i've bumped a few trees and i had trouble in some deep ruts in dirt roads.

otherwise its great. totally like it - but only been on some mild single track and paths round town. would love to do some fire road - jeep trail - logging road type stuff with it.

best of both worlds! err..

haha, awesome.

Brakeless track bikes on the street are stupid. That thing transcends stupid, and approaches nirvana.

Oh my FG.

ah, good, we're done bashing johnprolly's bike. i'm rejoining this thread.

that dolan is sweet. in the worst way ever.

is the jackass thread safe yet?

RMW 09-20-07 04:25 PM

:) no bashing. it is funny

humancongereel 09-20-07 04:27 PM

meh, i just read a few posts and wanted a new topic. yeah, i think the setup looks silly, but a) i don't know him, maybe his body is differently proportioned than mine and b) it's none of my business, if it's wrong for him, he'll realize once things start hurting. if it's right for him, great. i just want to talk about something else.

dolface hooked it up. i love english frames. the craftsmanship is great and theyre totally slept on so the price is always good. all my brit bikes were under $500 for the frameset.

eeek fg on the crosscheck must be hell... the wheel doesn't slip out or anything?

I can't wait for my cross fork to come in so I can slap my beefy 35 front tire on... I'm tired of riding a 9 sp rear 35 with a 28 slick on the front... Try finding a 1" threadless cross fork WITH canti mounts, no disc mounts, big enough to fit 35s and sells for under 40$ with shipping...

Thank god for ebay sometimes... and thank god for NYCBIKES...

Yo, 128: '86 road bike and 60's pathracer frame. We should hang out.

edit: I really want a white rolls for the red pathracer (repainted sometime in the 80's), and something other than the white deep vs I have, but seeing as that fizik pave and deep vs are what i have, and cash is not, that is probly what it will be built with.
