that stem is horrible, and a back break/brake because you have to run a spinergy in front. that fork sucks too.

so i rolled into my lbs today, and they told me my rims were done, but my tires hadn't shown up yet.
the tires i ordered are 14 a piece, and they dont know when they will be in, but if i dont want to wait they have these that are 40 a piece they will be glad to sell me.

I chose to wait.


seat hasn't been adjusted for height yet. and the bars may get adjusted some more. But I am getting closer

that thing is a frankenstein bike. the cranks are cracked, i have a der. cable as a brake cable, it's waaayy too small for me. and, like you said, a rear brake. if i did put it on the front (i actually just sold the spinergy) and i hit the brake (at all), i'd flip and loose some teef.
it really is a fun bike, but is a stupid stupid bike.

the fork is a 650c easton aluminum job that came with the frame. It took an adapater for me to use that stem with it.

The look is cleaner but it'd be a pain to deal with splatter from the tires. Fenders = function over form
And yeah, white rims will probably wind up with some black "accents" but using the pedals to slow down is a great deal of fun, the feeling is really unique.
So hopefully they'll stay bright for a little longer.

Oh yeah. Though I've spent ~100 bucks on my conversion I saw this on CL today and could not help myself. 2003 pista for 250. The guy is moving back to europe so he had to get rid of it. Even gave me a pair of MKS pedals and double straps. It came brakeless but I added a front for the time being. I raised the seat but from that picture it looks pretty high. I havent given it a test ride on that height yet.

Everybody is greedy these days because of eBay. Who'd take the hit of selling something like that at $250? I mean, with the double straps it's probably worth at least a couple bills more than that.

And don't get me started on those jackasses who swipe a bike from eBay at a steal with the intent of selling it as a TRACK BIKE FIXIE SPEEDSTER - $1200 on Craigslist. Troubled times...troubled times.

No ****. He said his roommate thinks he's crazy for selling for 250. He originally had it posted at 200 but a shop called and offered him 250. Since I lived a few blocks away and he was going to have to drive it to the shop he said if I could match the price it was mine. And so it was.

But seriously, I almost felt bad. But then I rode away and felt fantastic.
