I bought that frame from the factory in Turin Italy from Alfredo Gios himself. It's an 80th Pista frameset that they just happened to have lying around in the factory, never used. Just happened to be a perfect fit for me, too. It's my baby. I was inspired to find it after seeing a tight Gios in Philly a while back.

THAT Gios gave me wood!

Thought I would finally post some complete pics here now that I am mostly happy with my new build. The quick details -
54cm EAI BareKnuckle frame, Chirs King headset. Sugino 75 Crankset/BB, 47T Zen Chainring, 18T EAI superstar cog. MKS pedals/clips, brown Cinelli straps. Mavic CXP22 32H rims, formula hubs, Vittoria Randonneur 28s (snug). Nitto 65 seatpost, handlugged stem and RB18 bullhorns w/White cloth tape/Amber schellac. Tektro cross lever, Shimano Tiagra front brake. And the WTB seat cuz they're just so damn comfy. Hope you like - I certainly do. :) |

Great looking bike. +1 on a Brooks.
will look slick, last longer and probably be better for you--but if the WTB is comfy ride it till it wears out-- you can't see the saddle when you are riding the bike. |
an experiment in being a ******.
http://www.columbusbumshuffle.com/~a...tone_redux.jpg notable parts: bridgestone frame, truvativ omnium cranks with zen ring, king headset, level hub to deep v, and sketchy ass tri-spoke. |
What noise gets made when a truck carrying Vinegar and another with Water collide?
|
how do you like the omnium cranks? any notable difference in the bb performance?
|
the omnium cranks are extremely burly. i haven't really done any balls-to-the-wall sprints to where i've noticed any additional stiffness or whathaveyou. they are very well made with a nice stock chainring.

totally agree that brooks

I know, I know - the proverbial Brooks. That's the first thing my wife said too. I've thought about it but I mostly commute between 5 and 15 miles a day (only once or twice a week on this bike) and I'm not so stoked about breaking in a saddle for a year or more. I strictly rode mountain bikes for 10 years so they're hard to for me to get away from. Anyone throw on a new Brooks and find it comfortable right away? I guess as everyone says, I can always resell one on Craigslist in a heartbeat if I don't dig it. |
