Hi bigdeadwaltz, Sniks, Cynikal & Vee Dub , here's the one in the background. I think it was built in the late 60's. The hubs are 'Prior' and I think they were developed in the 50's. The flanges are rivetted to the barrel. Pretty spectacular (which counts) but they were only of average quality. The chainring is a 'Williams' inch pitch with a block chain. I ride it to the shops to get the groceries (thus no toe clips), it's good fun.

I'm on holiday today (Australia has the day off for the Melbourne Cup - horse race) so i'll post my other single speed bikes -nothing else to do. (I would usually be at work now.)

shoved in the corner out of view, so as to make plenty of room for the nice bikes to be seen

I'm not too sure about the bars myself, which I ordered and ended being enormous. I ordered them without checking the dimensions first. Well, I did know how wide I wanted them, but I never expected them this long. Having them chopped up a little shorter (3") would be better aesthetically. Still, with the tape already on them, I sort of feel like leaving them alone for a bit, in case I get over my fear of them. I have found for hill climbing you do need to sit a bit further in front and because there's no drops to reach down for to pull on, you have to reach forward quite a bit, so I do see a bit of use for the length.

Nobody saw that homeless angle bars on the first bike?

Thanks Soil; yes Airlite hubs. The spare tube is also strapped with a 15mm spanner for the locknuts. I took the pump off for the photo. The Saronni is a commuter.

Hi piwonka,

The bag is the plastic bag or tube the tyre (single) came in. The bars are unmarked. I found them in a bike shop as new old stock from the 70's - nice shape and aluminium.

Gary.
