Had the original poster used the word in conjunction with something aluding to race, such as "this Asian _____" then he's being racist, or at the very least insensitive. By the same token, if someone takes offense to the term, an apology should be offered and we should all go off and ride our bikes.

I've never heard of that word meaning anything other than a "silly person" or a "dual income no kids" and my ex-wife is Asian. This obscure racist remark may be more prevalent on west coast. I think he (and all of us) know better now. So lets go back to being gay (as in happy ).

i remember about a month ago, someone said "jipped" meaning ripped off...they didn't know that it was a remark aimed at deriding gypsies (similar in usage to "jewed"). i don't believe that person edited the term out of their post, and then they went on to ask "what else could i have said?" they did appologize though...although i wouldn't have been offended if they hadn't. i was just pointing out that something they said could be percieved as offensive to someone at some point in time...even though i guess it's okay to poke fun at gypsies in our society, because you hear it all the time on TV... i KNOW i've heard the term "dink" used on tv a few times too...in fact, there was a saturday morning cartoon on in the late 80s/early 90s that was called "dink." ...had something to do with dinosaurs, and was eventually taken off the air and overshadowed by the more-popular "denver, the last dinosaur."

either way, i think your .sig is a little over the line. i highly doubt that haymme was aware of that particular meaning of the word. i wasn't. i don't think i'd appologize either. i'd probably just say "oh. well, i'll be mindful of that in the future. thankyou for pointing it out." or something to that effect.

'That word' that's now so entremely silly was always used when I was a kid as a non-swear word for penis. Those crazy christian reformed kids had a whole language of not quite swear words. Darn, shoot, jeeze, the list goes on and on. It was a way to swear without swearing. D##k was one of those words. I've used it about a billion times. If the word as used isn't racist then is it still racist? I don't think we're going to solve it here boys.
