Now I have some decent photos. my 56 with a few additions. Really enjoying it so far. Some photo overlap with the sticky thread is possible, enjoy.

more comfortable on my wrists this way, I tried to have them a bit more flush, but no good for longer rides.

Well, you have to understand that there can be many factors attributed to wrist pains, one of which is improper riding form. Read this article and you'll get a better idea https://sheldonbrown.com/pain.html

I get some pain on wrists, but it common with track bikes because the bars are much lower than your saddle.

I raised the bars slightly more, which is good for me. Also put on a 16t cog, I can finally make it up the hill by my house, lol

I came to this forum because of the $399 Republic Aristotle ad -- popped up one evening when I was bored waiting for my baby to fall asleep on my shoulder at 3am. Read the reviews and decided to think about it. Been lurking for about a year. I'm sick of lurking.

I just bought a 52cm in white (website said they were out, but when I called they had a few left in 52 white).
The basic fit formulas (inseam, no shoes, x 0.67 for C-T or 0.65 for C-C) said I should be about 54, same with the fancier fit guide on competativecyclist.com. Figured it's better to buy a little smaller than too big, especially if I'll be more upright with risers.

I had my eyes set on the Wabi Lightning but it's considerably more money and I have no idea if I'll like FG, so $279 isn't too much of a risk, at least certainly less than the Wabi. Also if I got the fit wrong on the Motobecane Track it's not such a big deal because the price is pretty affordable.

I'm sure this will end up like the way mountain biking has gone for me. You buy a complete bike and you're bored. Eventually you succumb to buying frame-only, and blowing yoru budget on every future build, but falling in love again with your bike with every new part you put on it.

Good job, hope you enjoy your MT. If you're having problems with fit, dont be shy to visit your bike shop.

As a person who prices and build many bikes, I cant imagine how places like Bikes Direct do it (it's volume, obviously). I have a small shop, and have built around 90 bikes to date for clients. I would imagine the first thing that is skimped on are the wheels?

But, I will say that anything that gets bikes into the hands and under the butts of people is a good thing. Definitely not a snob when it comes to this, and ofter steer my potential clients to BD if their budget dictates...

I dont compete with BD, and never will, but I wonder how they do it.

It's the stock brake lever that comes with the bike.

He's right... and lucky you guys... I have updates! added white on black DP18's and a vintage Brooks saddle.
