I am a big clyde but after lurking on the bike forums and riding my entry level hybrid around town I am getting the urge to build my own single speed commuter with flip flop hub for the veloway not far from where I live. :)

The cycling bug is biting hard.

hamfoh 02-09-12 03:10 PM

I should bike to Austin and we can have a good ol fashion clyde ride

i initially thought you meant that the caad with four inches of drop was "almost positive."

Not everything has to be a crit race bike. Those guys are into long distance riding and design bikes for that purpose.

Confession: I'm on the verge of buying an aerospoke front wheel.

Unless you can flip it for profit, don't.

I visited the folding bike forum like five times by accident today.

rithem 02-14-12 04:19 PM

I just received 4 50mm carbon clinchers from china ... I didn't need them. Can't wait to build and beat the crap out of them.

Every time someone writes a post using ellipses (...) instead of single periods, I want to scream.

edit: didn't even realize the post above me did it till after I posted. My confession still stands.

I tell people all the time I ride an old single speed road bike, as soon as you say fixed in this town you are ruined forever.

I love Austin. Ended up riding without a helmet for most of the trip (which is something I never do). Also, I'm considering going brakeless.

I just don't understand people who get electric bicycles for the sole purpose of fitness. If for commuting or for something out of utility, I can understand. For fitness, it just seems like cheating...

It exercises their hands on the throttle.

Dannihilator 03-13-12 08:11 PM

I saw a person on one during my ride today and the person looked like she was really suffering but was going about 25 mph and not pedaling at all. No fenders, no bikerack, nothing. She blew past me, on a railtrail(took it to avoid the public school letting out.) Had to tt it to catch up so I could figure out how fast she was going, once figured out, I just slowed it down and continued on my planned route.

Scrodzilla 03-13-12 08:27 PM

I wish I didn't get rid of this bike.

wore lycra for the first time today (midweight knickers/jacket). liked it so much.

Dannihilator 03-13-12 08:59 PM

I sense a long period of rides with the mtb coming up.

hairnet 03-13-12 11:16 PM

I feel like I'm riding some post-apocalypse bike when I try to go fast or off road in the drops with my touring bike. such a geek

Cynikal 03-14-12 09:48 AM

I put my track bike back together after over a year if it hanging in the garage without a crank set. Hopefully I'll remember to ride it soon.
