I do a lot of cooking with various chile peppers, and the first time I go to the bathroom afterward there's always a moment of sheer terror as I try to remember if I washed my hands when I finished dicing the peppers.

Today I rode to work and didn't understand why my twitter was full of people complaining about the weather. Upon arriving at work, I learn it was 15 degrees with -9 wind chill (25mph winds). I noticed the wind because it almost pushed me over a few times but it honestly didn't seem *that* cold. (Those PI lobster gloves are so ridic, my hands are always sweating!)

My only complaint is I'm wearing contacts for the first time in ages and my eyes are killing me but I didn't bring glasses to change into so I have to suffer through another 7 or so hours.

its so nice and sunny here today

Today I: am realizing how different the muscle groups in your legs are for riding fixed vs. geared. Did 70mi fixed on Sunday and I was forced to pass on Wolfpack last night because the little muscles in on my inner thigh and rear thigh (right below my butt) were so tight/sore. I ride 150+ miles a week on my road bike, but haven't touched the track bike in months. Holy crap what a difference.

I just found out that Cannondale will be making a track bike again in 2014. Rad.

**** yes.

Adrian_ 02-19-13 01:08 PM

I hope it's nothing like the Capo.

Nagrom_ 02-19-13 01:10 PM

I hope its a bonafide track bike, and also available as a frameset only.

I can't wait to wrap brake housing all over.

TMonk 02-19-13 01:35 PM

capo is a ss frameset designed for road use

Yup. That's the eccentric contraction that happens when slowing/stopping. Eccentric contractions are a b*tch!

Street fixed gear or race bike?

Today I am waiting for UPS to deliver my new bike. Out for delivery since 7.15am, hope it comes soon!

TIL the hooked side of tire levers, which we all know is good for hooking the first lever to a spoke, is also the perfect size to pick up the chain with, and cleanly hold it off the cog while pulling the rear wheel out of the frame. I can't believe I got my hands or gloves greasy so many dozens/hundreds of times holding the chain up with my fingers, when a tire lever works so perfectly. I'd almost say this is a better use for that hooked end, but I never even thought about doing it until today. Did everyone else already know that? Hopefully that trick helps out someone else, too. That was the first completely clean rear-tube-change for me without gloves, and probably the quickest too.

Scrodzilla 02-19-13 02:55 PM

Today I built four wheels with goddamned bladed spokes. :bang:

Rep said definitely track, possibly an urban fixed gear. Also, race tandem and loaded touring are coming back.

Nagrom_ 02-19-13 03:31 PM

Hope its a race bike.

garlic_rice 02-19-13 03:41 PM

Today I took the train to work at the last minute instead of riding because I was running late. Then I realized I was wearing a cycling cap on a vehicle that wasn't a bike.

**** yo' rules.

Also lost a bid on a sweet S-Works Langster frame. Sad face.
