I like the tag. Seriously!
But that saddle just looks so uncomfortable! Did you try it out before buying? It feels ****ing amazing, seriously, the most comfortable thing ever. I just did 40 miles on it today (see below) on SF's ****ty streets and my ass feels great, haha. I agree it looks a bit odd, but I just don't care; the dip in the middle fits my sit bones perfectly, it's narrow at 129mm, but it fits my 5'8, 148# frame. When I'm really hammering in the drops the full cutout and dipped nose are just splendid. No more saddle-nose jabbing at my taint. Anyway: Today I bummed around SF with some friends (Jaytron and danvuquoc on this board). Such a great way to end the weekend! First we stopped by the Rapha Cycle Club for some coffee, quiche, giro, and oogling sweet digs. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9...016_124921.jpg Then we hightailed it over the bridge and got a bit of climbing in (hats off to Jaytron for doing that climb to Vista Point on 75gi of fixed goodness...). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-j...016_140057.jpg Went to Underdog's Taco Shop for beers and fish tacos, then to San Tung for delicious chicken (we fatz). Not a bad way to finish off the weekend! |
Today I failed while wrapping my LizardSkins. Sigh.
|
I was just out there. If you don't mind, I'd love to join you next time.

Sure! As long as you don't mind hanging with some roadies (my fixed was stolen so all I have is my Cervelo). Of course not! I usually ride with a couple of roadies. |

Why's that? If it's a financial thing, best of luck to you and hope you end moving on to better things. Like I tell my relatives, resistance of change isn't always worth fighting for.
this picture was taken this past spring before i painted the porch. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...e/photo-13.jpg |

I also decided to set a goal of a 20 mile ride in 45 minutes - hopefully I'll eventually get to that. |
Jandro, next time I'm back in the bay I would love to ride with you guys! That time would be around christmas. :thumb:

Just putting in some insight.
I have lots of experience with the tape; I've always cleaned my bars, even new, with alcohol and let it fully evaporate after drying in preparation for the tape. When it comes to wrapping, even though the package says not to stretch the tape, it can and has to be stretched slightly in order for the tape to not start unraveling (that's what happened to you I presume?). The trick with stretching it is to regulate the force you use to stretch the tape while wrapping so the tape does not outstretch and become thin while still being able to sufficiently cling itself via the underside adhesive contacting itself with the bar and the cling from the stretch. Upon finishing, you should use the larger than usual provided adhesive strip to wrap the entirety of it's width on the tape itself at the top with even pressure (consult above so you do not compress the underlying tape as well; ~~the adhesive strip does not need to make contact with the bar to ensure maximum hold on the tape. |
Today I:
Got a front rack installed on my friends bike: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...81401552_n.jpg Got full fenders installed on my Traitor Ruben: [url="http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/traitor-ruben-2927"]http://www.pedalroom.com/p/traitor-ruben-2927_29.jpg[url] Went for a bike ride on my Brass: http://www.pedalroom.com/p/srsly-bra...le-3068_27.jpg and had a good time yo! Also, the other day I was working on my brothers bike... going from a single speed with a chain tensioner, risers and hydros...to a drop bar, BB5, 1x9, bar end shifter... We didn't get too far though...a new cable setup is not long enough for disc brakes and those new Jagwire POP cable end F'IN SUCK BALLS~! |
Today... I went riding with Jandro. Hahaha. Climbing fixed sucks.

To ride back onto post, I can either climb a giant hill, a moderate hill that lasts forever, or even worse hills. |

I have the day off after being in San Diego for a work trip since Tuesday. It was the craziest (mostly in a bad way) conference we've run in a while. Staff morale was low, which we countered by drinking heavily every night. I got a TOTAL of 8 hours of sleep the last three nights I was there (2.5 hours Thursday night, 2 hour nap Fri afternoon, 2.5 hours Friday night, ONE hour Saturday night). All I did yesterday when I got home was sleep.
So far today, I went out and bought a new iPhone and am getting it all set up, and will be putting new bar tape on my bike. Back to normalcy. |
