I see.
You'd be shocked by the amount of seatpost inside the seat tube.
There's more not showing than showing. FSA 280SL, 350mm

Cause his spinergy will explode if he does.

You're only allowed to take so many pics of Spinergys before they disintegrate.

cc700 07-31-12 01:46 PM

decided to take pics of bike.

For the same reason there's no flash photography allowed in museums.

Which is where Spinergys belong.

Found that site looking for Spinergy pictures. Which really about sums it up.

So what you're saying is EpicSchwinn took too many pictures of his bike with that Spinergy and it only allowed that one picture JimmyTango took, and it was only allowed because it was backlit, omitting any detail one might hope to see?

So tell us a good Latvian joke?

Today I changed my brake levers and bar tape. Been wanting to do this for a while and the old tape was finally so worn that it had to be changed so that I had enough reason to buy the levers too.

jimmytango 07-31-12 02:34 PM

Haha... If it makes you guys feel better, I'll be getting a set of Ellipses if I get this bike shop job.

LessonLearned 07-31-12 02:49 PM

Didn't have anyone to help me but here's what I came up with. Should be pretty close although I'll have the wife help once she's available.

Just measured and 57.15cm is my SE Lager's top tube length, which falls right in line with The Eddy which is probably the fit I'm going for. Works for the competitive fit too actually.

Seems like all I need to do is get the saddle a bit forward, and get the bars/stem out a bit forward as well.

Problem is my stem options are limited since I want it to be at that level and my steerer tube was cut a bit short. In other words, I can't get a lesser angle stem because then it's uncomfortable because I'm not flexible enough. Need taller steerer tube, then appropriate stem length/angle.

Scrodzilla 07-31-12 02:58 PM

A longish (110-120mm) stem with a 17° rise should bring you pretty close.

Spoonrobot 07-31-12 02:59 PM

The measurements you took are too coarse to be useful for anything. If you're not working in cm/mm or 1/8ths of an inch you're wasting your time. Throw that away and start over with someone measuring you.

This is, as hard as it is to believe, something where as little as 2-3mm can make a difference.

+1

LessonLearned 07-31-12 03:00 PM

And the BB-saddle is way off at 82.5cm but fitment says 89-91cm? I must have measured something wrong...

Better just have someone help me and do this over. No sense in analyzing the figures since they're probably wrong.

LessonLearned 07-31-12 03:01 PM

10-4 good buddies. I'll holler back once I get'er done right.

You might want to stick with it if you just started riding, you'll get used to it and start to become more flexible. I definitely wouldn't spring for a nice stem until you get settled into riding.

Made a few adjustments...
Saddle forward, 107deg/90mm stem
Feels different but not sure if better or worse yet. Horns are tilted up a bit more to compensate, might tone those down just a hair.

When I see this bike, it makes me think that you must be proportional similar to

http://home.comcast.net/~snarkolepsy/4fair08.jpg

I think you need a longer stem or something.

have you ever tried flipping that stem and leveling out the bars? i had my stem/bars set the same way when i first set up my bike and i thought it was "comfy"

leveled everything out and its like my eyes were opened, more aero positioning and sprint level up, generally more comfortable overall. i cant imagine riding my bike the way i had it first set up anymore

flipping the stem so its leveled out gives you some more reach too which seems like what you need
