Today I got up pretty early and rode to the hospital with my wife in what was some pretty wonderful PNW weather so she could have her physio and had the physiotherapist coach me on how to help her with some exercises.

After lunch I am going to teach my brother in law how to assemble a bicycle... he crashed his Surly and wrote off the frame and the new frame is waiting in the garage to be built up... the parts from what was essentially a new LHT will swap straight across.

Today I decided I am sick of the subway and want to start commuting to work in the winter...

Lets see how long this lasts. My fixie is on the wall and the wheels need to be trued and my MTB has a bent rim from some idiot who hit me.

Starting the checklist...

A kid I talked to today in Cambridge asked me what it was like in America with people walking around with guns everywhere. Coupled with the fact that Sulfrages food court had an "American Food" section which was full of cake mixes and frosting, I'm pretty proud of how the rest of the world sees us.

so the Gov. merged Corrections and Parole (me). today i had a meeting with my new bosses that don't know what i do, have no idea how to fit me into their workforce, told me that my job would likely be redefined/renamed and that all future advancement may now be unavailable for my title. WHEEEE! :)

but, i have the week between the holidays off w/ my wife, two bike projects to work on and a steady paycheck. bring it on!

Because it is true and I can't even look at it the same anymore! Maybe i will post it FB but i feel awkward about posting it here

hamfoh 12-20-11 07:10 PM

Yeah I should've kept it or just left the 'buy it now' option, I was too optimistic. I loved that frame, but was really over having a white one and needed the space/money. lesson learned

jdgesus 12-20-11 07:15 PM

Today I:

If it were my house, I would have an entire wall dedicated to all bike related (helmet storage, parts bin, tools) but alas... this is but a rented loft. So up the bikes go!

got my drops and grips in today.

those ****ing grips are a ***** to put on...too lazy to get the heatgun outta the work van at the moment.

Scrodzilla 12-20-11 08:16 PM

Track grips? Use WD40.

CJWIZVRDGVNG 12-20-11 08:23 PM

I did use WD40 but once I reached the bend it kinda quit wanting to slide. The eighth inch track drops are pretty shallow so I may just use way more wd40.

I just made a self portrait with a shirt I wear all the time. I could bring it down my glazing red over it or something, but I'm just going to move on.

There's a lot of gesso because I like to dry brush on textured surfaces. I work wet and glazes and put the high lights with dry brush to bring back the texture. I only started dry brushing this semester and it is the coolest

I spent most of today in the detail bay. Headed to south Seattle tomorrow for an auto auction. I rode my bike to lunch today and forgot my lock's key. Luckily the restaurant let me take it inside.

Put out another newspaper celebrating my 13th year working in the industry. Based on my assessment, that's 52 front pages a year for at least the last 7 years. Glad I get to race taxi cabs on the way home tonight, maybe I'll go ninja

When you're my age, you'll be happy you made the commitment.

No kidding! The Protein Molotov Colon Lab sounds like a fun one.

nuhtowel 12-20-11 10:32 PM

To clear things up, it was Principles of Immunology, Molecular Biology of the Gene, Intro Microbiology lab, Independent studies, rudiments of music (general education bull****), Protein and Molecular Cloning lab, and general biochemistry. Their abbreviations are pretty awful haha.
