The only thing I'm not a fan of is the mixing of polished silver and frosted. Other than that, absolutely beautiful.

/shrug I think it's the perfect combination and adds some contrast. Just my $0.02 but everyone has their jam.

Sucks though. I was really getting psyched on that thing.
Man as soon as you mentioned you were bidding on your aluminum dream frame I knew it was that macaframa. I actually checked it a few times to see how the auction was going. Well, last I saw there was another at a $500 bid :/

Bikes: everywhere

Yeah, the satin/gloss combo is no biggie. Polishing that stem would make for a good winter night's project, though. Put on your slippers, pour yourself an Irish coffee and go to town.

Yeah, that was me trying really ****ing hard to find something I didn't like. I'm uber critical of people's bikes, so for me to have something like that as my only complaint is a good thing. I'd ride the **** out of that bike.

Yeah, Dirt's. I don't want to pay the cool tax of riding his bike. I think I might just use the money I didn't spend on that frame on a new wheelset.

Been thinking about either A23's or maybe even a sweet trispoke up front.

I have a friend who always shows me cool bikes, and my response is never "cool, that's a nice bike". It's always "that crankset is a stupid color" or "saddle and bar tape don't match", etc. He eventually got mad and goes "Do you have something bad to say about every bike I show you?!", so now I ask if he wants to hear what I don't like about it before I say anything. This forum creates bike snobs.

Agreed. And when you compound that with the fact that my career forces me to have an insane attention to detail and to be hyper-critical, it makes it even worse.

Doesn't create, it was always there, lurking deep inside you. This forum just helped to bring it out...

Touché. My job(graphic design), and my mild case of OCD can be blamed probably more than this forum. I just don't understand some people's logic when they put their bikes together.

Before you got onto the forums, you probably never appreciated how great a truly great bike is.

Put mothers mag and aluminum polish to whatever silver parts seem frosted.
