They gave me the non drowsy antihistamines and I feel pretty alert... and it is a nice night.

Will take it easy as the arm is pretty sore but is already looking a wee bit better.

Today I yawned while just getting started on my morning ride when a giant bug flew straight into the back of my throat, causing me to nearly choke. I managed to cough it up, spit it out and keep riding but have no idea what it was.

"Good morning Scrod."

Having been here before I did not delay getting my ass into emergency as the Lymphadenitis can cause complications like Sepsis which can lead to complications like... death.

They said I caught it early enough and that I would not have to be plugged into an IV for the next week unless I don't respond to the oral antibiotics and I get to stay home and recuperate and actually feel pretty fine.
Glad you are OK.

today I found out that my main route that I take to class on my bike has been closed for road repair. I also found out that my alternate route has been closed for the same reason.

Now I have to take the extra long way

Today is day 1 of no smoking...feeling pretty good so far, but the day is young. No real plans for the rest of the day.. Get off work, mow the lawn, ride to the grocery store and get stuff to make spaghetti, maybe stop at the liquor store and get a 6 pack of IPA?

Yay new bars/tape! Took a while because I was being a perfectionist about the tape job - kept unwrapping and starting over.

Doesn't it lose its stickiness after unwrapping?

That's only when you unwrap after the adhesive was able to fully adhere via riding with the bars after awhile. You have some amnesty while applying bar tape.

Today I saw a shimano bike, a maroon campagolono frame with flacon shifters and horrible lug work and a cologna mountain bike.

Bikes: See my sig...

Thanks for the well wishes guys... swelling has come down further which makes it look more like an allergic response than an infection and now the arm just hurts a fair bit.

Guess it is time to reload on (non narcotic) painkillers and go for a little ride... think that keeping my circulation up can only help and my legs and back need to get stretched out.

Made power bars yesterday and just had one of those... will have to burn off a few of those 400 plus calories too.

of the the "non-drowsy" formulas just include a little bit of pseudo-ephedrine it.. could be why

if you wrap the bars tight enough you dont even need the sticky tape
