wrenched on my buddies craigslist Cannondale Criterium. It was in baaaaaad shape, but took it all apart, lubed it up balls and all, and it's a lot better now. Still has a catch in the rear derailiur. It could also be the chain binding at a certain point. Only occurs when back pedaling, and only once in a while. Thinking the chain. Have to true the rear wheel.

Yes, the previous owner chopped off the drops...

Also, still waiting to hear back about my wonky BB on my Concept. Should have been replaced by now... :/

Beautiful bike xavier. I've been keeping my eye open for one of those for a looooong time.

Today and yesterday I've been getting back into my Dawes. Going from the Soma to that is kind of like switching from a roadster to a big-ass truck. I kind of forgot how fun it is to plow through any obstacle and go off-road. Probably gonna do a little tuning up later. The brakes need a little adjusting, wheels severely need to be trued, and chain needs to be cleaned and lubed.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Started working in a bike shop again, after 20+ years out of the bicycle industry.

Bikes: everywhere

Hope ya liked it JDT. I'm freshly back in a shop first time in about 13 years.

Today I got out on the free spirit. No BBs short enough for my campy cranks so it has 2x right cranks. triple on the right, double on the left.

39x16 seems to be perfect for this slowpoke. 32mm Marathons dont fit on back, so 28 there.

Today I decided to get a lot more serious about cycling. Made a workout plan to start doing. Not on a bike as much as I'd like due to my schedule, but It'll do. Its looking like no less than 50 miles a week, not counting track time. Weight room a couple times a week, and a lot of stretching.

Kind of excited; can't wait for the summer.

What about using a trainer? It's quick and dirty and does the job.

There is also the added benefit that you're on a bike you will actually be riding.

Today I used chain lube to lube my hair clippers.

Seemed like a good idea.

Today, my coworker brought some SIDI shoes in my size to try before I drop real money on clipless. Now I just need some cheap SPD pedals. Anybody have a set?

Actually, yeah! Better than the Andis clipper oil that I've been using.

I guess the key is to see how long it lasts or if it will break down with the heat of the clippers over time.

in other news, i just went to take the freewheel off the DC19 rear wheel.

don't have a freewheel tool, so i was going to go at it with a hammer/screwdriver.

wasn't even finger tight.

i'd never used the freewheel but now i remember that there wasn't one tight part on the whole bike when i brought it home from the LBS. grrr...
