quite. just one more hobby that involves hanging out with a bunch of other men dressed in spandex. :)

of course, in rapier, the spandex is fortified to 900 Newtons of puncture resistance....

Today I found these while stopped at a red light.

Seeing that it's by slime I presume they're lacktastic but I found it pretty funny that they were "made in the USA" but "assembled in China" considering the packaging isn't complicated at all.

Dannihilator 11-13-12 07:22 PM

Today I put in a leisurely 25 miles.

cali_axela 11-13-12 07:29 PM

Put the Dura-Ace pedals from my CF road bike on my FG commuter to see whether it's worth getting another pair of SPD-SL pedals to leave on it more often; it is. Found some barely used 105's for $40 on CL, picking em up tomorrow.

Not today, but last night, I was in a collision with a vehicle. Long story short, I was going northbound on a street and a vehicle coming south bound makes a left turn hitting me (or I hit her, I don't remember). I think I flew over the hood. My Right shoulder suffered ac joint separation, neck, back, legs, etc are sore. Some bruising. I have to see a orthopedic specialist to determine what needs to be done, possibly surgery. I hope the ladies insurance covers the expenses. Front wheel cracked in half, I think my body suffered more than the bike.

RGNY 11-13-12 09:42 PM

ouch. glad you're ok. speedy recovery!

Training.Wheels 11-13-12 09:43 PM

^ wow man! Take care.

As for me, day 12 of 58 in the Philippines. Have not ridden a bike since getting here, nor would I want to be riding some janky ass rental anyways. Gonna go watch the movie "Chernobyl Diaries" in a bit. Premium Rush hasn't been released here yet so I'm seeing posters everywhere about it. I may just watch it to get by.

Dannihilator 11-13-12 09:46 PM

Speedy recovery.

Not today, but yesterday I nearly got left hooked by someone pulling out of a parallel parking spot, the dingbat didn't even look to see if it was clear to pull out.

ktaoabc 11-13-12 09:58 PM

Thanks. The thing that sucks the most is not being able to ride, for a yet undetermined time. But I'll let my body heal, I won't risk a re injury just so I can ride a couple weeks earlier. That and taking long to dress, it took me ten mins to put on jeans and tie my shoes haha

Where in the PI are you staying? There on business? I'm going in 2013 sometime -- I hope to stay for about a year or longer if I can find work there. I gotta figure out how to get a work visa.

Scrodzilla 11-13-12 10:05 PM

Today I dislocated my left thumb. Not very fun.

damn. how?

Scrodzilla 11-13-12 10:21 PM

It was the dumbest thing ever. I was putting a bunch of cardboard and paper into the huge recycling bin at the shop and when I pushed down on it to compact it, my thumb popped out of place and I said a lot of bad words.

I managed to pop it back in but ended up going to the clinic to have it checked out after work and there's some ligament trauma and I need to wear a brace on my hand. Building wheels this week is going to be awesome.

at least (im presuming) the woman stopped and exchanged information and to see if you were still alive
i feel like 99% of the stories i hear the people either dont even know or flee the scene

Dude, this sucks. I hate hearing stuff like this and hope you recover soon.

ktaoabc 11-13-12 11:30 PM

Thanks again, I hope so also. I'm glad I started wearing my helmet again this summer, otherwise it might have been worse. Yeah she stopped, she was friendly and had genuine concern. She was saying she would like for insurance to cover my expenses, so now it's up to the company.

Muffin Man 11-14-12 01:31 AM

Im selling like everything man. Just posted my road bike frame, and my wii on cl, I wonder whats next...

tyler714 11-14-12 01:37 AM

today i hit the back of a car on my way to class in the school parking lot. i turned around for a second, the car in front of me stopped and by the time i looked forward i was already slamming into their bumper. i did manage to put my hand out and ease the collision somewhat, ha. no bike damage or injury, and hopefully no car damage, i doubt it. i rode away and went to class.

I'm in Manila. Quezon City to be more specific. Where are you from and why choose the Philippines? The smog here is killer and I wouldn't even consider riding a bike in the crazy ass traffic/pollution here. I've got some great family that keeps me coming back though. :thumb:

Today I....will be disassembling, cleaning and inspecting a new-to-me 29"er SS project bike, deciding what parts go,what parts stay and what parts to pull off another bike to finish this one). Also,I have a friend whose soon to be ex (over the weekend) beat her and tried to kill her and take her (not his) kids,so I have a feeling I'll lend a shoulder today as well. :notamused:

Black/anodized with the white decals.
So hot.

But if a deal comes up on a black/white, I'll take that too.

I was kind of wondering why didn't you just get something with a name on it in the first place, but I didn't want to say anything. You could of bought a CAAD 10 2 for around the same price of your chicarb build. Anyway you'll love the frame and there are a lot of good deals on ebay right now.

Yeah. I know lol. But once an idea is in your head, it's hard to get it out.

I'm pretty much gonna make a caad10 2 copy, but with better parts, for around the same cost.

jackss731 11-14-12 12:10 PM

^^^ Saw the 2013 Caad10 black with goldish decals. ultegra groupset and E-shifting. crazy nice bike. would never pay 4100 though haha

but Today I found this.

last day of vacation. lingerie shopping with wife. crispy fried mushroom risotto fritters for lunch. next, walking the dog along the wetlands trail. then, maybe, more hill climbing practice before it gets dark.
