Time for CAAD10 goodness.

Today I: am back at work and recovering after an intense weekend + monday + tuesday of cycling in LA. Legs, surprisingly, are feeling pretty good. Random things:

-Mt. Baldy was ****ing epic. Bring lights next time. Maybe think about not doing it in winter when it snows.
-LA Wolfpack Hustle is brutal. One of my highest average watt rides to date - felt like a proper race complete with nutty pace lines, attacks, and sprints. Have to incorporate some of this style into our SF chapter.
-LA is actually a beautiful place to ride if you know where to go (Palos Verdes, Griffith, Santa Monica Hills, parts of Long Beach, etc).
-LA drivers are ****ing oblivious to cyclists.
-LA has amazing food/beer.
-The Marathon Stick (aka " Jandro's flexy dild' ") was the MVP of the trip and was shared amongst our crew after every ride. If you don't have one, get one.
-Being back at work sucks.
-I'm happy to see my gf, I missed her (queue "d'awwww").
-If you have a chance, go ride in LA, you wont regret it. If you think you can hang, do Wolfpack. Even if you get dropped, it's a hell of an experience.

GIFs, in nor particular order.

You'd have a blast! There was a guy running (I think) 46x15 on a VISP beastmoding it, keeping up with all of us on road bikes. Strava track, if you're interested in getting an idea of the pace.

Today I broke up a fight between two 12-year old girls on the street corner near the shop. They were afraid of me, acting as though the Creature from the Black Lagoon just crawled from the harbor. It was awesome.

For sure I would be drafting the entire ride. It was always a treat to get on Roadblock's wheel because he is one of only a few guys taller than me in the LA "scene". Everybody needs to come out for the Marathon Crash Race. I probably wont try to race again but it still a blast.

my ex girlfriend won

i made a wrong turn off the front a few meters

Got a Wabi Classic on the way, my first Fixed Gear. I've been lurking for about a year, couldn't stand it any longer.

Today I cleaned my room because last night I found one of these in it. Freaked me out so much that I had to kill it and whiskey myself to sleep in the living room.

Today I changed my goals for 2013. Cut the mileage down a bit and am going to focus a little more on the dmr, also should be going full shimano on it in the spring.

Also getting really dialed on the street, that it's kind of taking away from my dirt skill set.

jdgesus 01-10-13 09:03 PM

my 2013 goal is to work less and make the same amount (or more) $

WORK SUCKS

being a professional pastry taste tester and latte art connoisseur sure is difficult

Today I realized that not eating dairy has helped my complexion quite a bit, but I still crave cottage cheese.

Nagrom_ 01-10-13 09:22 PM

Cottage cheese is one of the 3(?) things I literally just can't eat. Total gag fest.

Nagrom_ 01-10-13 09:28 PM

Today was an awesome day. Sold that god damned MacBook, so now I can move on with the CAAD build. Bought two sets of those fancy Mavic pedals for stupid cheap. Sold my 105's before even trying, which was particularly awesome. Someone set up a meeting for Saturday to buy 40 bucks worth of bike stuff. I set up a day to get my Force groupset delivered (CL), and the seller was cool with me not getting a Force brakeset, so I don't have to bother trying to resell them in order to get the Planet X CNC brakeset I've had my eye on.

One of my best days yet.

solipsist716 01-10-13 09:30 PM

srsly. When I see cottage cheese I just picture the nasty cellulite stuff on people's legs (sorry to anybody who's got that) and any food ***** I have turns into a food softy.

While in a food court at a grocery store, I literally watched a man as he killed off a half gallon tub of the stuff.
