Renter's or Homeowner's insurance?

I couldn't relax with one bike at home, let alone two. Now I don't even sweat it.

Can't speak for Jaytron's sqrl, but in my case my deductible is $1k, which is about what any of my bikes are worth. I asked about a specific personal property plan just for the bikes and they said they don't offer that. (But do for jewelry, which IMO is dumb.)

Yeah, her bike wasn't worth a ton but she loved it cause it had sentimental value to her.

I'll ask her about insurance though.

Inland Marine Insurance covers bicycles regardless of where they are parked when they get stolen.

It was originally designed for boats while they are being transported or stored out of the water (hence the name) but it now covers just about anything that could potentially move around and is not a motor vehicle. Our plan covers our bikes, phones, computers, Angie's camera equipment and a bunch of other stuff - and barely costs anything.

You seem to do things like this a lot more than I do and yet you are so much skinnier.

So lame.

Today I: joined the rest of my Pack and celebrated Wolfpack Hustle SF's first birthday. I say with 100% confidence that I wouldn't be half the cyclist I am today if I didn't start going to this ride. Best ****ing dudes around, good riders, and even better friends. This ride means a lot to me. I helped grow it and what started out as ~5 guys coming out on track bikes has turned into 15+ regular riders (we had 20 last night) on a mix of track and road bikes, local racers and Strava celebrities (lol). Feels****ingawesomeman.jpg

Here's to many more years of making Mondays suck a whole lot less.

Today i got t boned by a 72 year old man who didnt stop at a stop sign, less than a block from my house on my way out.

I yelled as soon as i noticed him not stopping, his window was down and he continued looking the other way and rolled right through the stop sign and into me.

Bike went flying and i tumbled onto the hood and then onto the ground, minor scrape on my forearm and probably a black and blue on my hip later.

Guy barely knew what happened and kept trying to say he was stopping the whole time.
Luckily 10 parks dept people were right there and told him he didnt stop, one gave me her name and number as a witness and offered help which is nice.

got all his info but im not sure what i can get out of it aside from making his insurance go up.

Front wheel is horrendously out of true but not tacoed, rest of the bike seems fine but i didnt take a detailed look at it yet. Thankfully it was my beater bike that got hit.

People man, why?

Always. Call. The. Cops. It helps having an incident report on hand, especially because you don't know what injuries might show up later and he could (and given the chance, anyone will) leave you high and dry

i think once people start hitting a certain age they should have to take driving tests all over again. If you have to when your young why not when you get older and things just are not the same??

glad to hear it was your beater bike and that your ok!

i know where he lives, hes old. shouldnt be too hard getting what i want.

in all seriousness though im fine. ive had much more serious injuries from skateboarding days, the amount of times ive fallen i know what will cause me some trouble or not

front wheel is shot though, i went to true it just now and the damn bike is so old the nipples seized on the spokes so thats a lost cause

i am now an amalgamation of 650 wheel guy. 27 1/4" in the back, 700c in the front. so aero.

That's ****ing hardcore.

Today I have a migraine, which has made an otherwise lovely bicycle day an absolute hell. I also had some outstanding barbeque for lunch.
