From what I've read, the 7600 are NJS, but work with an ISO BB? In that case will the 109mm Prototype work?

If they need a 109mm ISO BB, the Protype should work perfectly. I can look into it a bit more and get back to you.

I have no idea. Except for the rounded off top of the NDS arm, they look exactly the same.

Scrod, you mind if I ask how much your red 722TS weighs?

zane13 02-11-13 09:11 AM

Scrod, I am looking for a good versatile tire and like the look of the Vittoria Rando Cross in the 700x35c size....have you heard any good things about this tire or can recommend a good tire? Thanks in advance.

20-something. The wheels are pretty heavy.

The Rando Cross can be a little sluggish but you're most likely not looking for low rolling resistance anyway. If you do get them, you'll most likely never get a flat unless you run over a land mine (and then you'll have other troubles).

What bars did you put on that thunder drone, I'm hnnnnging at that build.

So, I bought a brand new 722TS frame off a dude in the summer but only just realized that the seat post collar didn't come with a bolt. Quick google search came up with nothing, so what size bolt should I grab? I assume I could just go to my LBS/hardware store and get a replacement right?

Thanks!

Go to a bike shop and buy a proper seatpost binder bolt.

19-22mm should do.

Mumonkan 02-12-13 09:11 AM

Probably wont even cost you anything, my lbs gave me one for free when it dissapeared out of the shipping box

Scrodzilla 02-12-13 09:56 AM

Send me a 16oz can of High Life. I'll send you a seatpost binder bolt.

Nagrom_ 02-12-13 10:03 AM

How do you measure for the correct length for that?

My beater has a QR binder, and I want to swap it out.

Scrodzilla 02-12-13 10:15 AM

It's tricky sometimes because the measurement of the bolt is taken between the two outer flanges. Measure the part of your QR that goes inside the frame and go from there. It will be ok if you get one that's a couple of MM too short.

FixedDriveJess 02-12-13 10:29 AM

aero vs weight in wheels?

Unless you're racing, aero doesn't really matter.

Mumonkan 02-12-13 11:21 PM

loud road hubs for shimano/sram comparable in price/quality of novatecs (i remember nagrom mentioning his is quiet)

rims with ~30mm aero profile and msw

Dead silent. My caad is quieter than my tarck bike.

But it might be just that model. The novatecs on my old 88's sounded like chainsaws.

MCosby 02-13-13 10:44 AM

My rear tire is worn, my lbs told me to just rotate the front and back. The front tire is still is pretty good shape, the rear has developed a consistent flat spot all around. If I have a new tire, should I move the front to the back and put the new one on the front? Or just replace the back with a new tire and leave the front? Thanks.

Scrodzilla 02-13-13 11:20 AM

I would just buy a new rear tire.

I like dealing with LBS, just like people better than keyboards
Do u think a Raleigh Rush at $475 is a good 1st fixed gear, dont wanna jump right into a $700+ track fixie or it in my best interest to go Kilo TT Pro?

Jaytron 02-14-13 02:16 AM

scrod, did you get my pm regarding a frame size change?

Scrodzilla 02-14-13 07:39 AM

Yeah. I thought I wrote you back but I must have gotten sidetracked.

ddeadserious 02-14-13 08:06 AM

Got my order today, everything looks good. Pumped about that sheep.

I know you've mentioned it before but I forget these things. What should I prep the spoke threads with? Last time I built a wheel at the shop, the manager told me to prep them with the green Park grease but that sounded funky to me.

Any other wheelbuilding tips? I will be building them myself at home and taking them in for my manager to help tension and true them.

Word. Should I expect any response or was it just a "cool got your info" type jam?

Scrodzilla 02-14-13 08:42 AM

I've got a note posted at the shop and will let you know when we place the next order with Dolan. Should be pretty soon.

Scrodzilla 02-14-13 09:35 AM

You did. I'll look into it.
