Hey Scrod, would there be any way we could put have restrictions put on new members? Like maybe they can't post a link until they have 25 posts? I think that would most of the shills...

Yeah that's my point. Most people know a large portion of people with pure track drops ride on the tops 95% of the time, so why do risers get mocked with most people knowing that?

I honestly don't know. IMO, risers are a hell of a lot more useful/practical on a street bike than track drops. The tops on track drops don't even provide a comfortable hand position.
|
Exactly. After I got home from a substantial ride yesterday, I threw the risers on my Kagero for a quick spin around my 'hood and it was super fun. I like the way it looks with risers just as much as with compact drops.
|
I dare you to throw some Deda Pistas on it with pink LizardSkins.
|
I most likely will re-wrap with pink at some point when my black tape needs to be replaced. Nay to the Deda Pistas though.
|
Darn! Worth a try.

Scrod, how much those kinlin 300's/novatec/sapim wheels weight? Want to compare to my build [rear 1.036 Kilograms (2.28lbs) and front 951 grams (2.09lbs)]
|
My Novatec Force wheelset (which is Kinlin XR300's to Novatecs and spokes I suspect are very similar to the Sapims) weigh 1750 g (3.86 lbs) combined.
|
For that deep of a rim that's a very respectable weight.

Scrod's price is very competitive, considering the current version of the Novatec Force wheelset costs $529.00 shipped and now has machined sidewalls.

Gran Compe hubs are also pretty nice but for the money, Novatec > Dia Compe.

Oh. That would explain it :) - Scrod in Training |
Dear Scrod,

When I was a kid, I was a pretty serious BMX racer and had a bad crash at the track one day that left me with three busted teeth, a broken arm and whiplash. I was in the lead, undershot a jump over a set of triples and ended up over the bars in mid air, resulting in about ten other racers landing directly on me.
