They are probably the nicest and best looking track hubs available. Worth every penny. I had a set of 808 race wheels with those hubs.

I really don't know. I hated fixed gear bikes before I started riding - but it mostly had to do with what's wrong (or right, depending on who you ask) with "fixed gear culture". In a lot of ways, I guess I still hate them. :lol:

"Fixed Gear Culture" is pretty stupid. It follows the same il-logic as fraternities/sororities, gangs, nationalism, etc...

It gets really stupid when "FG culture" starts dissing normal cycling culture.

Ahh yes, Bad Brains. Too bad they're a terrible live band now. I saw them at Riot Fest a few years ago. Worst thing ever.

I saw the Bad Brains a few years ago at a festival in New Jersey and then the next night on a cruise ship in New York harbor. Although they were a far cry from what they once were, I'd be lying if I said my eyes didn't well up when they began playing.

I am jealous of that pic. At Riot Fest HR was changing lyrics to songs while eating a ****eating grin and making fun of the crowd that paid good money to see them play. It pissed me off.

Similar to my views on god too. I tend to align myslef with Humanism.

On the thin strip of adhesive for LizardSkins there is some paper covering it all the way from the front of the tape to the end of the tape. When wrapping, should I peel it as I go or rip the whole thing off and go from there? (my issue was the paper was coiling up the tape like a snake)

With all bar tape I usually peel it as I go until I get about halfway, then I rip the rest off.

I'm using standard cork tape right now($5 from Nashbar) and like the amount of padding it provides. I'm going to be buying new bars because I'm a *****, so I'll need new wrap. Would you recommend LizardSkins or is it significantly less padded than cork tape?

Take a trip to a well-stocked bike shop. Fizik, Bontrager, and Specialized all make around 3-4 different textures of grip tape.

I LOVE my Lizard Skins tape, but it is expensive. Some other tapes that I also love and will use on occaision:
- Specialized Roubaix tape. Grippy, spongy, and absorbs vibrations. I love the way this feels. Hard to describe the texture.
- Fizik Microtex in black or gray. It has a velvety yet grippy texture. Other colors don't have the velvety texture but are also called Microtex.
- Bontrager "Grippy" tape (actual name). It's similar to the Lizard Skins tape in the way it is tacky. Sort of hard to find, though. I've only seen it once in a shop. Maybe it sells out. There are 2 versions: One with normal padding and one without padding for use on aerobars and aerobar extensions where padding isn't necessary.

Interesting, thanks. More than grippiness(which I haven't had any issues on my non-grippy cork tape), I'm just concerned with padding. Additional grip is cool, but not at the cost of comfort. LizardSkins is obviously a higher quality tape, and I'm willing to pay the premium if it will prove to be more durable and more comfortable.

Unfortunately, we don't have any real well stocked bike shops around here. Most of them are pretty small, and thus only carry a few brands exclusively, with the ability to order the other 90% of things they don't have. REI is about as well-stocked as it gets - cycling in Michigan sucks.

I'm looking to purchase hoods, while clamp sizes aren't standardized, are the actual parts where the hoods would clamp to standardized?

Also, Soma vs Cane Creek hoods, any reason to go with one over the other?
