Is there any significant difference between MKS Urban Platforms and White Industries Urban Platform that would justify paying 4x the amount for them? I understand that White industries are american made and machined but other than that they seem identical. MKS is aparently lighter as well.

If you can get Stans for cheap, why are you asking about other rims? I love my stans, they're crazy light and stronger than I expected.

The easy answer is 'you'll know when to stop'. Most people use an insanely unnecessary amount of torque on their axle nuts and as long as your wheel isn't going to fall off, it's good.
