And yet another quick question. Which helmets under 70$ would you recommend?

I know the fork will have clearance but I'm really not sure about which caliper would be best (and I don't have an S805 fork around to experiment with).

It really depends on what style of helmet you're looking for. If you're looking for something with "urban" styling, the Lazer Armor retails for around 40-70 bucks (depending on which model you want) and is an awesome value.

Great, thanks! What about road helmets?

Scrodzilla 01-30-15 11:00 AM

Spend a little more (after all, you only get one head) and get a Lazer O2. Cheaper road helmets are often bulky and not very ventilated. The O2 is probably the best helmet on the market in the $100ish price range.

If you're dead set on $70 or under, check out the Lazer Neon.

gotcha guess ill just have to potentially eat some cost

out of diacompe/tektros, which one looks like it might give me the most clearance as far as how high the pivot point sits?

Scrodzilla 01-30-15 01:41 PM

Tektro R540 has about 5mm more clearance.

This link, How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989) - IMDb, apparently describes how to get a head in advertising. Possibly of use for anyone wanting a second head.

Euthyphro 02-01-15 11:41 AM

Scrod, I know you like to Pasela PT all the things, but do you usually use the kevlar or steel bead?

cale 02-01-15 12:02 PM

Actually, I just strayed and put Jack Browns on my Macho Man!

The weight difference is so minimal between the steel and kevlar bead Pasela PTs, I honestly don't have any preference.

Euthyphro 02-01-15 12:44 PM

Ok, Pasela PT most of the things. Good to know. The T-Serv ProTex is pretty appealing to me too. I'll be sending you some more money before too long.

GENESTARWIND 02-03-15 09:05 PM

can you recommend me an inexpensive bike pump.
im currently using a cheap avenir which is a pain to use when airing a tie up and now it has a leak.
thanks!

Scrodzilla 02-03-15 09:47 PM

Topeak Joe Blow Max HP will run you around 30 bucks and last forever.

Leukybear 02-03-15 10:39 PM

*suspiciously looks behind shoulder

What time should I come in to pick up the goods tomorrow?

Scrodzilla 02-03-15 10:45 PM

When we tell you they're ready to be picked up.

Alrighty, I was unsure as I heard something along the lines of come in during the late wed afternoon as I was going out the door; better safe than having to drive to north park empty handed anyhow.

Huffandstuff 02-06-15 01:27 PM

Hey Scrod, I just grabbed a bike with Sugino 75s on it and it has the Sugino bb in it. What are your opinions on the best bang for your buck sealed bb.

I've found https://www.benscycle.com/p-164-prot...sugino-75.aspx but also open to other options.

Scrodzilla 02-06-15 01:43 PM

We used to carry the Protype too but stopped because I found the spindles to be very inconsistent. This is much better, IMO.

Tight, I glanced at your site but didn't see that. Order placed.

And Angie's already got it out the door!

Leukybear 02-09-15 02:07 AM

Hey scrod I remembered you said something about being able to get colossi's. What's the retail price range of colossi's any way? What about the Lowpro?

Scrodzilla 02-09-15 10:29 AM

Colossi just set up distribution in the US. We're already locked in as their dealer for the region but I won't really know pricing or what's readily available from their facility for another month or so.

How was the shop's anniversary party?

Unkle Rico 02-09-15 12:53 PM

And who won the race?!

Any thoughts on the Brooks C17 vs C15? Obviously the C15 is narrower, and saddle fit is a personal thing. Im trying to decide between the two and none of my LBSs have any to demo. Im going to order one or the other from you.

FWIW i have recently ridden (and disliked) a Fizik Arione VS and a Fizik Aliante.

I know you ride a C17, how does it compare to a B17 (which I have on another bike)?

Thanks.

ThurberMingus 02-10-15 09:09 PM

Hey Scrod, barely a question, but figured this was the best place to drop a "Hey Scrod!"

I ordered some stuff from Retrogression today (EAI 17t and Yoshida Champs), and it's already in the mail! Do you by any chance toss in stickers with every order? I've been stickering up my beater and I would like to rep your shop!
